Thinking about leaving toxic Twitter & joining Bluesky 🦋. Not sure where to start... they have these things called starter packs & I am putting together a UK Nursing pack to get you started. Just click on the link and join. Follow me if you want added. https://t.co/mfyUvDblZU
The @OntHospitalAssn and @FordNation Conservatives are working together to replace some public hospitals services with private clinics.
But hospital nurses & health-care professionals are fighting back, demanding #NursingRatiosNow!
Join their rally on January 29 in Toronto!
@PutrinoLab We need to vote for-profit health insurers off the island
Health care is a public good
Extractive capitalism (feral capitalism) (predatory capitalism) must not be allowed to touch public goods. Including nominal nonprofits which maximize revenue rather than patient outcomes.
@NurseStandard Yes they should - like every other graduate from a HCP degree course and the fact that nurses are the only profession that start on a band 5 undervalues our expertise and unique contribution to healthcare
My first Congress was a day trip in 2015. It was the moment I found that nursing had a larger role to play in healthcare. I found that we have a voice and we need to use it to implement change.!
Little did I know this was a start of an amazing journey from myself in the RCN
I would recommend every member try attend congress once. They is so much to do from taking part debates, learning workshops, networking and developing your nursing voice!

Politicians have fragmented the NHS, introduced privatisation, some trusts are more impacted by complex factors locally. Streeting should support NHS leaders, not scapegoat them 🚨

With one million new accounts added since the U.S. elections, Bluesky has solidified itself as an option for people looking to change their social media service. https://t.co/6HS29g70y7
I haven’t made my mind up yet but I’m highly likely to leave Twitter in the New Year and move to Bluesky. We can’t keep propping up this toxic platform of misinformation.
1. A few days ago, I wrote a thread about the pros and cons of staying on this platform and asked for your views. They were very helpful. As a result, I’ve decided to stop using X from January 20. Already I’m mostly posting now on BlueSky (@georgemonbiot.bsky.social) instead.🧵
@RCN_NI It is unbelievable that once again our members could be forced to take industrial action to get a pay rise. They have worked tirelessly in a broken system to try to deliver for patients . Their reward ? No payrise yet and a suggestion they may have to accept less. Just No
A good thread. I’d love to see a more detailed level of the data for my own eyes but @SethAbramson rational is worth listening to and considering. It’s also important for learning as a fixed view on a “stolen” election potentially limits learning and future repeats in poor GOTV.
Let me just say this I am an engineer. I operate in facts, evidence, analysis, observation, and data. I am not a kook or conspiracy theorist, but when my guts does not feel right, I’m going to trust it
I've seen no compelling evidence that the election was stolen.
But the number and the intelligence of the people questioning the data is pretty staggering. And virtually none of them have ever found themselves doubting election results before, including in 2016.
Just a thought.
No Christmas bonus for these trump voters because the company they work for had to buy one year's worth of products because of trump's promised tariffs.
That's Karma AF.
