Things missing from Burnham’s landmark speech on the economy:

• Ballooning debt
• Soaring borrowing costs
• General taxation
• Welfare/benefits bill
• Environment/Net Zero
• Defence spending
• Trade and investment

I’m massively disappointed. Whilst I disagree with Burnham’s politics, I want our country to succeed. We will not succeed and turn this country around if Burnham cannot face up to the massive problems facing the economy.

Devolution is a nice to have, it will take years to implement and Mayors will all want different things and won’t “pull in the same direction” as he thinks they will.

He also wants 10 years but only has 2 years. It’s a hell of a lot of vibes and wishful thinking.

Truth is, British people want a dramatic overhaul in Westminster, in their general taxation and how their money is spent. No.11 will still control all those things and devolution cannot solve them.

Burnham needs to face up to reality, fast, and get his hands dirty or end up like every other PM before him.

Yvette Cooper is Foreign Secretary. She just wired £23 million to UNRWA. This is the same UNRWA that had Hamas tunnels beneath its headquarters. The same UNRWA whose staff were accused of joining the October 7 massacre. The same UNRWA that admitted tunnels ran under its schools.

As Foreign Secretary, Cooper represents Britain abroad. She sets our foreign policy. She decides which regimes we fund and which we isolate. She chose to fund an agency infiltrated by terrorists.

She knows UNRWA cannot keep Hamas out. She knows tunnels were found under its facilities. She knows British money flows into Gaza with no oversight. She restored the funding anyway.

Cooper treats British foreign policy as a charity operation for terror sympathizers. She is not representing British interests. She is funding our enemies and calling it diplomacy.

Yvette Cooper is Foreign Secretary in name only. In practice, she is Hamas's foreign secretary.
