If you’re out there talking about #LindsayClancy, please look at the #KeishaGolden case. Her trial started today. 50 calls to police for help, nothing. 8 months pregnant and got her head slammed into the kitchen counter, she grabbed a knife and stabbed her abuser IN THE LEG to defend herself, now on trial for murder.

Everyone should be supporting her. She is a nurse and turned down a plea to serve 2 years (if I recall correctly) but then she would lose her license and ability to take care of the babies she was protecting. She has a public defender and could use all the help they can get!

The New South Wales Government is going to shoot Australian wild brumby horses starting tomorrow 6am Monday 24th August through Friday 28th, in Yuraygir National Park. They will be mass shooting the animals from helicopters. These horses do not always die immediately, and dependent foals can be left without their mothers.

Over 7,000 wild horses have already been killed through aerial shooting in Kosciuszko National Park. Now aerial shooting is being used against horses in Yuraygir, all in the name of protecting the “environment”.

If the NSW Government actually cared so deeply about protecting the environment, why is it facilitating 15 proposed data centre projects worth almost $52 billion, despite the enormous electricity and water demands associated with data centres?

What about trapping and rehoming these horses? Many locals who live alongside them dispute the extent of the environmental damage being attributed to these animals.

Where is the recent, publicly available, independent and transparent evidence showing the current extent of environmental damage specifically caused by the horses in Yuraygir? And where is the evidence showing that shooting them from helicopters is necessary instead of pursuing non lethal alternatives?

Some people will argue that wild horses can impact ecosystems. This does not automatically mean aerial shooting is the only, or the right, solution. In my opinion, this is awful and inhumane.

There are better ways to manage these beautiful animals than shooting them from the sky.

Sharmila Chowdhury @sharmilaxx gave the NHS 30 years of clean service. Not one blemish. Then she did something apparently unforgivable.

She noticed two consultant radiologists at Ealing Hospital, run by London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust @LNWH_NHS, billing the NHS for shifts they were actually spending at a private hospital down the road.

Getting paid twice for the same hours is fraud everywhere on earth.

Everywhere except, apparently, inside an NHS complaints process.

She reported it.

To her line manager.
To the Medical Director.
To the HR Director.
To Counter Fraud.
To the Chief Executive.
To Number 10.
To the Treasury.

She built a paper trail so solid that ITV @itvnews later sent an undercover team into the same hospital years on and filmed the same consultants still taking cash from patients for private ultrasounds on NHS premises.

The Trust's response to all that diligence was to sack her, based on counter allegations later shown to be fabricated.

The man behind those allegations reportedly signed off an email too crude to print here.

He picked up a Top Mentor award from the Trust that same year. Nobody writes comedy this good on purpose.

Sharmila took it to tribunal and won. Won the appeal too.

A judge ordered the Trust to reinstate her. The Trust said no. She was then quietly blacklisted across the NHS.

One job offer was withdrawn the moment they worked out who she was. Legal costs hit £130,000.

Somewhere in the middle of it she developed breast and lung cancer, which her doctors link to years of sustained stress.

The two consultants kept their jobs.

George Osborne could not get involved.

Andrew Lansley could not get involved.

David Cameron could not get involved.

Every one of them filed it under employment matter, Whitehall for we would rather not know.

The first Trump administration tried to usher in pre-crime to stop shootings and terror "before it happens" by having AI give Americans risk scores for "neuropsychiatric warning signs" based on their social media activity. The first Trump admin's AG Bill Barr also created the legal rails for pre-crime at the DOJ and FBI.

Now, the Trump administration is doing it all for real with Kash Patel, at a time when other admin officials have claimed that political opposition to their agenda is indicative of a "resurgence" of political "terrorism." Kash Patel has teamed up with Silicon Valley and AI to decide who gets put on the naughty list.

Instead of an uproar over the complete destruction of our remaining civil liberties, there are crickets. A good segment of people who used to claim they were advocates for civil liberties, personal freedoms and personal sovereignty are now instead tied up in embarrassing personality cults, NGU derangement syndrome, and/or bleating that "open source" AI will save us all.

The FBI's pre-crime AI could be "open source" and it would still work as intended and still be just as detrimental to our freedoms. Making a digital prison "open source" doesn't change how it functions, it just makes the walls a little more opaque, that is - if you can even read and understand the code, which most people can't.

"Open source" is a buzzword that has become largely meaningless, like "natural" on American food labels. Stop acting like it will save the US from tyranny. There is a reason the EXACT people involved in making AI pre-crime in the US a reality have been recently tweeting about how "open source" AI will somehow prevent its misuse by bad actors. They are lulling you into a false sense of security as they pull the switch.

Trans-identified men in Edinburgh are fortunate enough to be welcome at the Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre, which was headed for a while by a trans-identified man who believed, and said publicly, that women who wanted a female-only service were bigots. That same rape centre admitted a male as a client because he called himself non-binary. The man was subsequently convicted for rape.

Beira’s Place was set up by me to provide women in Edinburgh and the Lothians with the female-only service they were being denied. Internal emails between ERRC staff were revealed during an unrelated court case, which showed them to be angry and dismayed that there was now an alternative service for women. One might have thought, reading those emails, that ERRC staff’s priority was the ideological conversion of rape survivors rather than the provision of a service that traumatised women required to feel safe after rape.

Beira’s Place has been exceptionally busy since it opened. We’ve taken on more staff and are currently looking for larger premises. We’ve helped women who’ve admitted that they didn’t want to use the alternative rape centre because of its very loud and public ‘trans women are women’ stance. We are also open to any and all trans-identified women who need support after rape.

In short, you’ll be relieved to hear that the trans-identified men for whom you feel such empathy and compassion aren’t losing out. It was biological women who were being shamed for their entirely legitimate desire for a male-free space. Apparently you’d have preferred that situation to continue, but I think you’ll find that most people, whether male or female, will see that as evidence of your cruelty, not mine.
