This is captivating creative circa 1965 for the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia.
It struck me this would be perfect in 2026 in social media as a carousel.
The copy is simple and smart (unlike today’s ads). It is six sentences: “It’s a Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. It looks like an expensive sports car (because the body was designed by an expensive sports car designer).
But it’s actually a Volkswagen (it has a Volkswagen engine and chassis). VW dealers service them and sell them. The cost: a sane $2250.
So people don’t have to just watch it go by. They can go buy it.”

Chopping 🪓 wood 🪵 & Carry Water 🪣- I get it.
Wrapping up 5 weeks of working remotely on a island where I am 20 steps from the ocean, orcas, eagles,seals and birds are constantly the only traffic sounds with the occasional fog horn. A all day cedar burning 🔥 and a brilliant work space to work on the deeper work of my practice.
It’s the first time I have done a working sabbatical where I was able to think, write and create without distraction. Here is a few meaningful memories I unlocked:
Frequency: Spending hours just observing in silence the ocean and nature- you begin to lock into the rhythm of the neibourhood and almost anticipate which species is doing what at what tide or time if day.
Aesthetics: The smell of wet cedar drying off over fireplace has a hint of eucalyptus and if you open the windows facing the ocean combined with the rain - you breath deeply and have a new smell combination to somehow bottle and make into my new permanent smell. (Or inject directly in my veins)
Routines: geting wood from the outer wood pile to the porch and the wet cedar to dry and keep the fire going would become the most enjoyable chore of my life.
Simplicity: limited food choices and spices created some of the best meals I have ever had.
Consequences: if we missed dropping off our garbage on Sat or missed getting meat on Fridays or fresh veg on thurdays would result in even fewer choices for food. The local schedule requires a food strategy.
Tapping out to tap in: New levels of creativity unlocked with giving yourself a significant time in “stealth mode” 🥷 - which has recharged me, created clarity and connected me to my family, nature, God and my purpose guiding founders to create sovereignty thru thier brands of impact.
Intimacy: With everything. Including how I show up in the world. Sometimes I hide in plain sight just sharing my branding and business activity and insights- rarely sharing what’s up personally… it’s intentional - I tend to be very private. But I have decided it’s about time I share a little more context about my life’s journey and this not earth shattering for most people on social- its a shift for me.
Why? - because not sharing these little cabin life insights feels selfish. I falsely had the story that if I did I was bragging or being superficial. When what is superficial is when you only see one side of me.
I may not show up doing a selfie 🤳 journal about my feelings or some declaration of daily personal thoughts- it’s just a shift to stepping out of my comfort zone and sharing context - so there is even more Cohernce in how I go thru life and connecting with you.
It took Chopping 🪓 wood 🪵 & Carry Water 🪣- to get it.
