He broke harness racing record after record throughout his career, including setting a 1:55 mile record in 1906.

While cars are usually preferred today, at the turn of the century, bicycles were all the rage. Women enjoyed the new freedom and independence that bikes offered, making it easier to travel to the homes of relatives and friends.

Football has been around for a long time. The sport has undergone many changes throughout its history, particularly when it comes to uniforms, padding, and rules. Here, Frank Dierberger of Shakopee models his football uniform in 1890.

The first mention of basketball in Scott County is of a women’s team. This was one of the few sports that was considered acceptable for women to play.

How do you build a rollercoaster? Very carefully.
These images are of the High Roller coaster at @ValleyfairMN . It was built for Valleyfair between 1974 and 1976. The classic white coaster still stands today and thrills many visitors each season. 🎢#NationalRollercoasterDay

Before end-of-the-year highlight video reels, there were vinyl records that recapped the year like this one from 1969. Produced by CBS, it covers the major events of that year, including the moon landing, Woodstock, and the Mets winning the World Series.

By far the most interesting cover in our collection, "How It Is Nowadays," dating to 1969, is filled with short stories, poems, and related exercises. It was used at St. Mark's school, likely as a textbook for an English or reading class. 📚
