@Antonharmony@paranoiacs Great observation. Shows the sense of urgency he started out with and how quickly he lost it. There's 15-20 songs scattered throughout the rest that are (imho) equal to those but it takes digging.
Great deep dive into what is absolutely one of the greatest US films ever made. Sometimes I think about how it avoids the darkest parts of US society (racism, domestic violence, etc.), but I'm not sure the film would be better if that stuff was in there.
I promise, I deliver: as deep a dive as you're going to get on Peter Yates' brilliant BREAKING AWAY, w photos, script excerpts and making-of info.

I found this article by a former Harvard Crimson President very disturbing. The moral bankruptcy that led the Crimson to endorse BDS some time ago, without subsequent withdrawal, appears to have spread to the news pages.
(I have shared Stoll's article to several at the Crimson without substantive response and this tracks with the things I have observed.)
Many of the students I have engaged with at the Crimson have high integrity and smarts but I do hope alumni trustees will investigate and take any necessary steps lest a problematic situation deteriorate further.

There has never been a “literary rock star,” the temperaments are fundamentally at odds, any proposed example is easily disqualified, sorry to rain on anyone’s parade but it’s the way it is
