California: no alcohol sold, given, or delivered between 2 and 6 a.m.
Not a comped shot. And letting someone finish a drink after 2 is its own violation.
First after hours violation starts at a 15 day suspension.

When premiums jump, people shop for something cheaper. Some of it only looks like health insurance.
Sharing ministries aren't required to pay your bill.
Short-term plans are banned in California.
Fixed indemnity pays a flat amount, not the bill.

Liquor liability on the first page tells you almost nothing.
Bars often land in surplus lines, where each carrier writes its own form. Common exclusions: minors, intoxicated patrons, alcohol served in violation of the law.
Same name. Different contract.

Medicare drug plans in 2027, three numbers going up at once:
Top deductible: $615 to $700
Out-of-pocket cap: $2,100 to $2,400
National base premium: $38.99 to $41.33
Check your Annual Notice of Change.

Every standard general liability form has a liquor exclusion in three parts.
The third one nobody reads: liability from any statute, ordinance, or regulation about alcohol.
Nobody has to be drunk. Serve after hours and it's out.

The subsidy cliff is back.
At about 400% of the federal poverty level, federal help stops. For 2027 coverage that's about $63,800 for one person, about $132,000 for a family of four.
$1 over and the credit is zero.

The adjuster asks for your point of sale report and your camera footage. Not to see how much you poured. To see when.
Last drink at 2:22 a.m. State law says 2. Claim denied, no lawyer either.
Not a bad pour. A clock.

If you get a premium tax credit, you don't pay the sticker price.
Your help is built off a benchmark plan plus your income. So your plan can go up 20% and your share barely moves. Or the sticker barely moves and your share jumps.
Don't auto-renew blind.

Your subcontract has two promises: name the GC on your policy, and defend and indemnify the GC.
If the endorsement is missing, the indemnity promise is still enforceable. It's just not funded by an insurer anymore.
#AdditionalInsured
The open enrollment trap: clicking "keep my current plan" because the paycheck deduction barely moved.
If you pay the full deductible, a $10 bump per paycheck with a $1,000 higher deductible costs more than a $40 bump with no change.
Add up the full year.
#OpenEnrollment
Blanket additional insured tells you who is covered. It tells you nothing about when.
Search the endorsement for the words completed operations. If they're not in there, the GC is covered only while you work.

Employer health costs: up 8.2% per employee, the biggest jump since 2003.
Individual plans: insurers asked for a median 15% for 2027.
Medicare drug plans: top deductible goes from $615 to $700.
Three letters. Three different deadlines.
#HealthInsurance
The certificate is evidence of coverage. The endorsement is the coverage.
The additional insured box is a Y somebody typed. It doesn't say which form is attached or if it reaches completed operations.

The Medicare window is 54 days. It fills up fast in December.
Before Oct 15, list your prescriptions, doctors, and pharmacy.
Compare total yearly cost, not premium. Then call each doctor's office about 2027. Don't trust the directory.

Subcontracts still ask for CG 20 10 11 85. The 11 85 means November 1985, an edition most carriers stopped issuing decades ago.
Ask in writing. If no, get CG 20 10 plus CG 20 37 and the GC's written OK before you start.
#AdditionalInsured
A temporary program held down premiums on standalone Medicare drug plans in 2025 and 2026. It ends Dec 31.
Carry a separate drug card? Read the premium line in your Annual Notice of Change. Then compare.
#Medicare
Most subcontracts require CG 20 10 and CG 20 37. Most certificates prove one.
Ask your broker for the endorsement pages, not the certificate. No CG 20 37 means the GC is covered only while you're working.
#AdditionalInsured
Medicare's 2027 negotiated price on Ozempic: $274 a month. List: about $959.
Pay coinsurance? You likely save.
Pay a flat $45 copay? It might not move. The plan saves the money.
#Medicare
CG 20 10 covers the GC for your ongoing operations. While the work is happening.
The claim that shows up two years after the punch list needs CG 20 37, completed operations. Separate page, asked for separately.
#AdditionalInsured
Advantage plan ending and you pick nothing? You usually land back in Original Medicare, with no drug coverage.
Wait too long and the late enrollment penalty can stick for as long as you have drug coverage.
Pick drug coverage before the end date.
