1. Callahan never coached us at a World Cup & has a very limited sample size,but impressive style of play & won the Nations League despite losing to Panama in Gold Cup.

2. Bruce got us grouped at the WC & failed to qualify for the WC despite an impressive 2002 showing.

3. Berhalter scored 3 goals at a WC & won 1 game. Poch scored 11, won 3. He also had the team playing an impressive, attacking and counterpressing style of play that has demonstrated real progress. Gregg also was the first coach in history to get grouped at home in Copa.

You can criticise Poch for certain things (sticking too long with Ream is a fair gripe) but overall that Belgium loss was multiple players shitting the bed.

Poch also had significantly less time (10 camps) with the team than Gregg or Bruce did & still demonstrated clear progress.

These are my thoughts. You're welcome to disagree or make a counter-argument.

It's similar to his time at Tottenham, it only works if he has full control and USSF gets out of his way. Let him build a team without MLS players, which will force players in the US to go abroad and challenge themselves.

Absolutely, if GB was in charge, we wouldn't have made it out of the group stage. Poch achieved more than any coach in the last 20 years for US soccer in a very short time.

You hire Poch, give him a year and a half to unfuck Berhalter Sr washed culture of a squad, ask him to waste everyone's time calling up My Little Soccer frauds for marketing time in Gold Cup and 2025 friendlies (Walker Zimmerman playing 90 min vs Switzerland in Nashville then promptly discarded and never relevant ever again), then ask him to do the impossible and go into quarterfinals/semifinals with a group of players that have been fucked by weak mentalities for YEARS; and now all of a sudden Poch is the fraud, the 4-1 loss to Belgium was all on him.

If we even sign anyone else. This is the classic ENIC/Levy play book. Bring in some free transfers, sign one moderate player with some upside and then splash media garbage the rest of the window about players we'll never sign. Rinse and repeat.

He's got us looking like Spurs of 8 to 10 ys ago. The Spurs teams which compete for PL titles and made runs in the CL. You play whose in front of you. Other "big" teams have struggled in their first games. I feel we are peaking at the right time and all without CP for 75% of it.

Hand up — I was dead wrong about Poch. He’s stylistically turned this USMNT team into his best Tottenham sides. High pressing, high energy, and a pain to defend against.

Was worried that he wouldn’t be focused and was already onto the next gig, but he’s having a tactical masterclass out there.

If Ream is part of the back 2 or 3,a high line / high press only exposes us. Especially since Poch wants the outside backs to push into the attack.

The high-press we're running is high-reward but very high-risk. We don't have the back line that can handle being exposed when they play through our press.

This is the issue with Ream. He is to passive and afraid of getting beat. Thus will happen frequently in the WC. Poch wants the wings to push into the attack and Ream is going to left 1v1 enough times he will cost us goals. Good sub to close out when we are bunkering.

Antonee Robinson loses possession, midfielders are out of position, and Ream could have confronted the attacker sooner instead of backing up while he had cover.
