Just watched a lady walk into an Ace hardware and ask if they had a road atlas. A younger employee didn’t know what it was and had to ask an older employee. The older employee told her they didn’t have any. The lady then preceded to ask them directions #timetraveler
@ComicDaveSmith Everyone out here is obsessing over politics when they really should be learning how the “bottom up” Austrian economic theory is different from the “top down”Keynesian economic theory which is what our entire economic policy is derived from in the US and most of the world.
The next financial crises will revolve around the U.S national debt growing exponentially therefore US treasury yields will rise so dramatically and so quickly the fed will be unable to bail us out with quantitative easing due to the lack of confidence in the USD #Finance#money
The median home value to income ratio in the US now stands at a record ~4.5x.
This is 45% above the historical average of ~3.1x with the median home payment now at a record $2,800/mo.
Meanwhile, the median rent price in the US just hit a record $2,050/mo.
Renting a house in the US requires ~35% of the median PRE-TAX household income.
Buying requires ~46% of the median PRE-TAX household income.
Simply having a place to live has never been more expensive.
Every levering-up is followed by a deleveraging
Deleveraging can happen either through inflation or deflation
But the only way a deleveraging is not painful is if it is offset by an equal or greater increase in productive output
The coming deleveraging is so large, it is unlikely that we see an increase in productive output large enough to offset the pain
But it’s not impossible
Here are a few technologies/paths that have the potential to facilitate a painless deleveraging:
- resurgence in nuclear fission
- millennial baby boom
- artificial intelligence
- nuclear fusion
- room temperature super conductor (LK-99)
@heresyfinancial It’s so crazy how outdated and un necessary the legacy banking system is. So much wasted energy that could be used on productivity and innovation.
