"We all have this moment in our lives, sometimes more than once. And just like in the stories we turn to again and again, we are the protagonists who face down our own darkness to fight the enemy within and around us..."

Take the Amazon-backed GW Ranch project in Pecos County, Texas: 7.65 GW of simple-cycle gas turbines, permitted by Texas regulators for up to ~33 million tons of CO₂ (actually ~33.2 Mt CO₂e) per year.
Scale that permitted intensity across the full 270 GW of gas plants currently under development in the US: roughly 1.16–1.17 billion tons of CO₂ annually at the permit ceiling.
Caveats matter—permits are maxima (plants rarely run 100% capacity factor year-round), the broader pipeline includes more efficient combined-cycle units, and many announced projects will stall or get delayed. Even so, if the fleet averages even half that intensity you’re still looking at several hundred million tons of extra CO₂ every year.
Climate implication: That scale of new gas generation could wipe out a large share of the US power sector’s recent emissions declines, lock in fossil infrastructure for decades, and make 1.5 °C / net-zero pathways substantially harder—especially once you factor in upstream methane leakage. AI-driven load growth is effectively reverse-engineering a new wave of gas dependence that most climate models did not fully price in.
Welcome to My Journey with Mission Zero!
Hello everyone,
I'm Scott, and I'm thrilled to share my journey and the mission behind Mission Zero with you. Our goal is simple yet ambitious: to help the U.S. reduce its carbon emissions and transition to clean, renewable energy.
As the Executive Director of Mission Zero, I work alongside passionate individuals and organizations dedicated to creating a sustainable future. Our focus is on providing education, services, and products that empower homeowners to electrify their homes and reduce their carbon footprint. From solar panels and heat pumps to electric vehicles, we're here to guide and support every step of the way.
Additionally, through the Mission Zero Foundation, we strive to educate and prepare students for the future by integrating climate change into K-12 and university curriculums. Our Climate Action Internships offer hands-on experience and inspire the next generation of climate leaders.
Stay tuned as I share insights, success stories, and practical tips on transitioning to clean energy. Together, we can make a difference and move towards a net-zero emissions future.
Thank you for joining me on this journey!
I discovered that I can post about an EV with 315,000 miles and be told it’s run on coal its entire life, that EVs are dirtier than ICE cars and renewables are bad for the planet.
So I shall post this amazing video narrated by Robert Llewelyn from @FullyChargedShw
It will undoubtedly trigger some folk
Peter Kalmus (@climatehuman ) on "What's Causing Global Heating?"
NASA climate scientist and activist Peter Kalmus lays out the facts on "What's Causing Global Heating?" in this new Climate 101 segment.

As a scientist I'm proud of just how much incredibly rich, detailed and varied evidence we have of the unravelling of life on Earth
And utterly dumfounded by how little anyone seems to care
