Marvel Comics announces 'AVENGERS', a new ongoing comic from writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Marco Checchetto launching this November.
The new team spins directly out of this summer's 'AVENGERS: ARMAGEDDON' event series.
@bible_reader666@cashh_ketchum@theLeopard90114 You could press more buttons sure, but you’d get roughly the same results. Like I said that game did not have the difficulty or polish necessary to make that style of combat rewarding.
And even then that’s the one positive I acknowledged, and games are more than just combat
@bible_reader666@cashh_ketchum@theLeopard90114 The combat at the time wasn’t even what people praised about it. People liked the story the most of any sort of it; was THE landmark “original, well constructed superhero video game story drawn from various source stories” before even Arkham Asylum came along
@bible_reader666@cashh_ketchum@theLeopard90114 Yes, it is objectively revisionism to think WEB OF SHADOWS is some groundbreaking mark of quality and not extremely bland even by the standard of its time.
Like why are you acting like that game was hard to combo in? That game wasn’t Devil May Cry or even the GoW trilogy
@bible_reader666@cashh_ketchum@theLeopard90114 It cannot be overstated how much better Insomniac’s Spider-Man games are. The only thing I can MAYBE say in Web of Shadows’ favor relative to the Insomniac games is depth of combat, as can be expected of it being essentially a distant bastardization of Devil May Cry
@bible_reader666@cashh_ketchum@theLeopard90114 You guys really want to do revisionism that bad, huh?
Web of Shadows is GENEROUSLY a 7/10 by TODAY’S standards. It is a pretty formulaic, not well polished, casual beat em up in the vein of GoW, as was the trend of the time.
It’s a solid enough game. It’s paltry as “the best”
The thing with the Insomniac Marvel games so far is that — just ignoring any gameplay elements, which u think are stellar — they feel very “what if Marvel had a New 52?” and I really can’t hate that
It’s unimaginable levels of LARPing to get and that Faye kicks ass. The only woman that Kratos was ever going to settle down with is one that can put him in a headlock
@aurauoura It’s so they can maximize the gameplay experience while still letting your experience the biggest narratives of the character.
Skipping the origins is a lesson learned from that being the worst part of every (J)RPG made in the last 30 years
