@BankofMelb My account was locked due to an over the counter, in bank transaction, with a staff member who knows me personally.
My expired passport was enough to allow me to withdraw the money but triggered your fraud system.
You now won't accept my passport to unlock my accounts. Security?
@BankofMelb I have contacted your helpdesk and lodged a complaint.
Who would this case manager be that you speak of? I have had no reply.
Is it normal to lock all of one of your customers accounts and then demand they come into the bank with ID?
You have left me to no access to my funds.
@BankofMelb Why has Koby your Fraud Officer from Risk & Fraud Operations locked up my accounts. I have no access to my personal and business accounts.
Is this even legal to refuse me access to my money?
I am asking here because the fraud team refuse to talk to me directly.
@BankofMelb Case Manager?
I have not received any feedback back since my complaint.
I went into the bank Thursday and withdrew funds out over the counter.
This turned into a block on all my accounts. WTF
I have done nothing wrong and it has resulted in me having no access to my money.
@BankofMelb I am completely locked out of my personal and 2 business accounts at the moment so how far do you think I will get with that phone call?
I have no access to my personal or business funds and spent most of yesterday trying to sort it out but got nowhere.
@BankofMelb
Made a Visa card transaction online recently and was redirected to BOM for a second factor authentication code.
It displayed my phone and email as choices.
Email was displayed as s****@domain.com
Guess what s stands for. It is written on the card.
Not a good idea.
@BankofMelb Few days ago I tried to make a payment to a new BPAY biller. Only option I had was to ring BOM, add mobile number and get SMS code or call.
There was NO option to send code to email.
Sure I don't need a mobile?
@BankofMelb You displayed most of my email address and the part not displayed was very easy to work out. I was not logged in when this was displayed.
If someone steals my card and tries to use it, you are then giving them my email address. Do you think maybe this is not a good idea?
@BankofMelb
My suspicion is that they suspect the fraud was a staff member. Why else would an over the counter, in bank transaction trigger a fraud alert?
@BankofMelb
If the fraud team are so concerned about fraud on my account, to the point that they need to put a lock on all my accounts, then why do they refuse to speak with me directly?
I could be of help confirming the fraud.
@BankofMelb Nah. I like doing this for all to read.
I have no idea how withdrawing money inside a bank can lead to a fraud alert and no access to my money.
Also how the bank was fine with the expired passport as ID to withdraw money but now it is no good to unlock my account.
@BankofMelb
I did the following to ID myself but not enough:
Had my expired passport.
Had copy of birth certificate
Valid Medicare card
Student card
Swiped bank card/entered pin and logged into internet banking in front of bank staff
Bank staff member friend vouch for me
