SEC just approved a rule change to explore replacing the $25K PDT rule with risk-based intraday margin.

Nothing changes right now. PDT is still in place.

But long term, this will most likely open the door for smaller accounts to day trade based on real-time risk instead of a fixed $25K threshold.

We are one step closer to no PDT.
