@djclimenhaga@MikeyCycling Using one's phone while driving. Not legal here in Alberta either, obviously, though we have no similar system of citizen reporting.
Love your blog, @djclimenhaga
@bunny_smash Whew!
Spoiler alert: cycling in winter is fun and not at all hardcore. It requires just a teensy bit more time and caution—but the same is certainly also true of walking and driving.
❄️🚴🏼🙌
@bunny_smash Long-time winter cyclist here. Studs on both tires are best BY FAR—but, if you insist having studs on just one, it should be the front. You’ll stand a much better chance of staying upright.
@peaceavebike Thanks for all the work, leaders. Only made it out on one group ride this year, but am ever grateful for the work and organization needed to keep this going. 🙌🚴♂️
@CityofEdmonton This is so important if we want more people to leave their cars at home. I can drive in 10cm of fresh snow, but I’ll happily bike if I know the pathways have been cleared.
YES, ploughing roads is important too. That’s why they have their own—SEPARATE—crews and equipment.🙂
More masculinity = more health? Nah.
Reality: traditional masculine norms associated with:
- Mental health challenges
- Unhealthy behaviours linked to heart disease, cancer, etc
- Loneliness & isolation
- Poorer sex & relationships
- Etc

@TheBreakdownAB Our province is a hot mess, but I’m okay with this. Small electric vehicles (not necessarily just golf carts) should be accommodated on municipal roads. They could replace a lot of car and truck trips.
