@ddetts@newport_troy@EliteGolfDad I didn't either until I got a letter in the mail. I've searched all over and know of no other instances of this. Just completely crazy. Here is the original letter from 2020.
@newport_troy@EliteGolfDad 2 badges for life was enough! I never signed up for a waitlist, but got a letter in 2020 saying I'd been selected to go on onto one, picked from people who apply for the lottery (I was 0/16). 2 years later I got this letter. Still in shock. 2025 will be my 3rd year with tickets.
@SportsBallFan23@EliteGolfDad Nice! You must hit the ball a long way. I've only parred 17 once in 8 tries, and that was with the pin in the very front. That was hitting driver, 5 iron. That hole is a par 4.5 on a good day, and par 5+ with the pin in the far back or a stiff headwind.
@1992Pirates The 1 hit given up by Zane was on the very first pitch of the game to Keith Miller. Zane then threw 27 outs of no-hit ball. In game 2 Jeff King hit two home runs. And it was Family Buck Night! I remember that night quite well.
@MidwestGolfJake He was sometimes funny, but posting a picture of a PGA Tour player's wife and calling her "Piggy Hot" was not funny or parody. Now that he is outed I wonder if people he attacked will strike back.
@Weatherhack Dreams come true. I was 1 for 15 and in 2020, completely out of nowhere, an envelope from Augusta was in my mailbox. 2 years later another one. I now have 2 annual badges for life. Other than apply for tickets every year, I did nothing. 2 years in, I still don't believe it.
@DoerflerJared@HannaGolfCo Getting a letter from Masters in '20 saying I'd been picked to go on an annual badge wait list (didn't even know one existed), and another in 2022 telling me I had 2x annual badges for life. Truly the most astonishing thing that has ever happened to anyone ever : ) 100% legit.
@OffDaHook35 My son and I will be there Fri & Sat walking the floor. I went for the first time in 2021 and am excited to return. Shopping for pre WW2 golf cards, quirky track & field items, and mid 80's Fleer & Donruss rookies (Gooden, Puckett, Boggs, Gwynn, etc)
@DizzleAZ@OffDaHook35 in '92 (7th grad for me), my buddy who barely collected, had a stack of cards on his bedroom dresser with piles of other stuff. I sifted through the cards and in it was a Canseco Elite. I went crazy. He took it to a card show and sold it for like $60. We thought we were rich.
@1992Pirates What an awesome day that was. I managed to catch Albert Belle's 2nd home run in the 1st round. Thomas' longest homer (I think longest hit ball ever documented at 3 Rivers) bounced down into the lower deck just a few rows behind me. That would be an amazing ball to have.
@MarkThompsons Awesome picture! A few items I have in my collection from early days of the hotel. Here is a postcard that they mailed on their opening June 25, 1968. Also a bag tag from when it was also branded as a country club.
