BREAKING: LOL! Graham Platner responds to Trump calling him a "thug" and the "worst person" to ever run for office by calling it the "highest compliment that I've ever received."

Republicans really do NOT want to play this game...

"I watch that thug that's up in Maine," Trump said of
Platner. "He's a thug. And they're trying to make excuses for him. I mean, he's worse than any human being that's ever run for office, probably."

In a new campaign video released on X, Platner watched the footage of Trump attacking him, laughing at each new absurd barb.

"I don't know him. I don't want to say bad, but I just..." Trump added. "Look, I mean, nobody's ever had a record like that."

"Wow! I've got to say, being called a thug and the worst person to ever run for office by Donald Trump might be the highest compliment that I've ever received," said Platner.

"He's also right. There might not be a lot of other people like me who have run for office," he continued. "You know, people that actually served their country, fought in this nation's wars, came home, started a business, lived down here in the real world, have spent years and years being involved at the local level in the community, and then one day decided to go run for U.S. Senate."

"Maybe he's right about that," he went on. "But for Donald Trump to come after me personally might be the nicest thing anybody's ever said about me. And the reason he's doing it is that he's scared."

Trump and the rest of his party have been panicking ever since Platner won his Senate primary because they see that his left-wing populism is striking a profound chord with voters. They're desperately trying to paint him as some kind of monster because they can't contend with him on policy.

And it's on policy that Platner truly shines. He's taking a stand for the working class, confronting the oligarchy that every day brings our democracy closer to ruin, and he's not afraid to call out Trump and the rest of the Epstein co-conspirators. Republicans hate Platner because he dares to suggest that a rapist, conman, pedophile shouldn't be President.

"He knows. He knows that we're coming after him," Platner continued. "He knows that when we win this election, when we take this kind of politics down to Washington, when we retake this seat for working-class Mainers, when we retake the Senate with fighting Democrats who actually want to hold Trump and his cronies and all their corruption accountable, he knows that's coming."

"And it's got him shaking in his boots. And he should be. Because we are coming," he added. "Because we're building something here in Maine the likes of which has not been seen before. We are really building a true broad-based working-class coalition to build power the old-fashioned way. Organizing people and taking it. taking it to fight for a better future. Taking it to make sure that the Epstein Class, that Donald Trump and all of his depraved billionaire friends who think that they can get away with disgusting acts, think that because of their money and their power and their wealth and their influence that they're above the law, they're about to find out that they're not."

"And it's got them terrified. And they should be," he concluded.

This is how you combat a MAGA smear campaign. Dismiss the lies then focus in on the kitchen table issues that Americans really care about.

The truth is that Graham Platner is a good man, he just has a complicated history like so many other good people. He suffered from PTSD brought on by fighting in a war that Republicans started, but that makes him more, not less qualified for higher office. He knows all too well the dire consequences that can come from decisions made in Washington.

We've had enough with "polished" candidates. Straight-laced, civil, suited politicians are how we ended up in this mess. It's time we start elected normal people with real insight into what it's like to work, live, and survive in this country.

Republicans might have a better shot at impugning Platner's character if their party weren't controlled by Donald Trump, the cruelest, stupidest, most evil person to ever occupy the Oval Office.

NEWS — Ken Paxton’s impeachment defense lawyer is endorsing Democrats James Talarico for Senate, @NOTUSreports scoops

Dan Cogdell, who represented Paxton in his 2023 impeachment trial and several personal cases, told NOTUS in a statement that Paxton “has lost sight of his core mission”

Cogdell is well-connected in Texas GOP politics, and has represented top state party officials. He donated $6,500 to Paxton’s campaign, contributing as recently as last year

But he’s been critical of Trump. A clip of him calling Trump the “greatest threat” to democracy was even turned into an NRSC attack ad last year. It’s been scrubbed from the web.

Talarico said in statement “if you voted for John Cornyn, you have a place in this campaign.”
