Hear me out: don’t send your kids back to the government school next fall.
Withdraw them permanently.
Join a local homeschool group.
Meet some veteran moms and dads.
Attend a homeschool conference.
Free your children.
It doesn’t matter if you have a degree, a stay at home parent, two jobs, or extra money. I promise you, I’ve been through all of that and homeschooled for 26 years.
You might sacrifice something, but wouldn’t it be worth it?
In conservative Christian circles, children are encouraged. I grew up homeschooled and in church, and was doubly encouraged to have lots of children.
People like to mock families like this, but it’s a beautiful juxtaposition to being told to follow a career and live for yourself.
Children truly are a blessing.
Reading hundreds of books together over your child's entire school years is probably one of the most beautiful parts of homeschooling. Even after my kids could read independently, I continued to read something aloud to all of them, most days, throughout all twelve years of their homeschooling. You can't beat an hour of relaxing on the couch in the middle of the day with your Mom, siblings, and a great story.
Several decades ago, when Zinn-inspired history was ramping up in high schools and universities, and after Creation had been systematically removed from all science curriculum, the homeschool movement was quietly growing.
With that growth came stacks of books that went back to what had been taught for hundreds of years in America:
*the strong Christian faith of the Puritan founders of New England
*the overwhelming Christian foundation of America's independence and Constitution
*the book of Genesis on origins
*the concept of "people groups" instead of race-based DEI
*the strength of free-market capitalism
*a rejection of Goals 2000/Common Core/and every other kind of federal or state standard
*the joy of reading classic books
*a distinct biblical worldview
(I know, because I was one of those kids.)
So while the kids in public schools have been slowly separated from God, patriotism, classic works, and even solid phonics and math instruction, the homeschool kids have been receiving a very different education.
We're a small group, but constantly getting bigger. And there's a reason for that. People want what their grandparents had. Good books. Strong virtues. Love of God. Love of country. Growing leaders. A firm foundation.
We don't use public school curriculum for a reason. We don't care what the public school standards are. Ours are different.
If you want that for your kids, you can walk away from the government system today. You can stop wasting your time on school board meetings where they time your speech and then promptly ignore it. You can stop hoping that the government will somehow suddenly end the waste and corruption. You can choose your homeschool resources from the THOUSANDS created by people who wanted something better. You can teach your kids to read well, to love God and to see Him in every aspect of language, nature, history, and the universe. You can quit wasting their childhood on secular humanism and give them a whole new life.
It's out here. All you have to do is make the choice.
I've published 22 old American history books (so far) because I think we should get our history from the incredible people who made the history, and not from Marxists seeking to destroy our heritage.
My next project is an illustrated guide to the numerous documents in American history that debunk "separation of church and state."
Stay tuned!
Praying for America:
How great He is! His power is absolute! His understanding is unlimited. The Lord supports the humble, but brings the wicked into the dust. (Psalm 147:5,6)
Lord, we've got a lot of wickedness! We are looking forward to Your dust storm!
In Jesus' name🙏🏼
Comparison is definitely the thief of joy. As mothers, we can easily get caught in this trap. While our homes may feel like chaos, we see social media images that lead us to believe no one else lives that way.
It’s so not true.
I’ve been a mother for 29 years. I still have two of my kids at home. And this is the most difficult it’s ever been. I’m at one of those places where prayers can either be lengthy and heartfelt, or short and desperate. From one day to the next I don’t know what kind of rollercoaster ride it will be.
Teenagers, personalities, strong wills, diagnoses, and the sin nature we all have in common can make a mom feel kind of hopeless some days. I’ve thought, “Where did I go wrong? What is the answer? Will it get easier? Does anyone else have these issues?”
I share this because you need to know that yes, at some point, every family has struggles. The grass is no greener in someone else’s backyard. Many people keep their struggles private. Either they’re unsure what to share, they’re afraid, or they’re protecting their privacy.
Friends, you’re not alone. Don’t BE alone. Talk to other parents. Open up. Confide in a trusted friend. Pray for each other. Just don’t assume you’re the only one. Whether it’s struggles with teens, illness, financial problems, extended family issues, or something else— everyone has something.
A church home is vital. A homeschool support group is invaluable. A mom’s group can be crucial. Fellowship is a human need. God sees. He cares. And others do, too. Find community and invest in it. You’re not alone.
