@evanempdx I’ll give you that. I shouldn’t dabble in absolutism. But don’t you think there are a higher percentage of players who want a ring than owners? I don’t really hear owners talking about their legacy. It seems ownership is their legacy.

@evanempdx I mean, every time a player is traded, you hear the phrase “This is a business”. Players play for championships. Owners exist to make profits. If the venn diagram happens to overlap, that’s just gravy to ownership. I agree - I never fault a player for getting their bag.

@evanempdx Your argument is extremely valid. That said, it seems NBA championships are more coveted by players than owners. Sure, it’s great for bragging rights, but as long as the franchise turns a profit, that’s the most important metric for ownership.

A possibly unpopular opinion but I’m actually very happy for Lebron and Bronny, And, tbh, the Lakers didn’t “waste” a late 2nd round pick. They knew this storyline would generate millions of dollars. From a business perspective, it’s an absolute win. I’m hoping Bronny excels.
