This is one of the most jaw-dropping, chilling interviews I have seen. Watch this Rabbi from London, respond to question about the terror stabbing in Golders Green!
Toronto synagogues and even the U.S. Consulate are being shot up. Public safety must be protected.
@PasternakTO and I are calling for an injunction to stop the hateful Al Quds Day rally.
Al Quds Day has become an annual platform for antisemitic hate and extremist rhetoric. In today’s climate, this raises serious public safety concerns.
I call on the City to take the necessary steps - up to and including an injunction - to cancel the demonstration.
It is infuriating that our leaders in government are choosing to not action every legal power available to them to ban the antisemitic Al Quds Day hate-fest … as was done in the United Kingdom. Mayor Chow – will you finally take action to support the Jewish people living in Toronto? When will our leaders at all levels of government treat this crisis with the urgency that is needed?
Antisemitic incidents and normalization have increased drastically in tone, degree, and violence since October 7, 2023.
This video of Al Quds Day in Canada and around the world was produced by B’nai Brith in 2023, just a few months before October 7.
The threats expressed by the people attending this hate rally are more ominous now than ever.
To our leadership – it is not too late to right this wrong – but heed the warnings now - Ban the Al Quds Day rally today. Do you choose peace or do you choose hate? Do you sit on the sidelines again? Failing to choose is a choice.
@MayorOliviaChow
Reports of a ramming attack and gunfire at the Temple Israel synagogue complex in West Bloomfield, Michigan are horrifying.
A Jewish community should not have to live with the knowledge that its synagogue, school, or community centre may be the next to be targeted. That this fear now hangs over ordinary Jewish life is intolerable.
What happened in Michigan does not exist in isolation. It is part of a broader and deeply dangerous climate in which antisemitism has been tolerated, rationalized, and allowed to spread. When hatred against Jews is normalized, when incitement is excused, and when those sounding the alarm are ignored, the result is a society in which violence against Jewish institutions becomes common place.
The Jewish community in Michigan is not standing alone. Jewish communities around the world stand with them in pain, in outrage, and in solidarity. Kol Yisrael arevim zeh bazeh. All Jews are responsible for one another.
We stand with our brothers and sisters in Michigan. We pray for the safety of every member of the community, and we demand that the necessary actions be taken to protect Jewish lives.
@ScottFish24 Going to be the first time I miss the SFB playoffs, but still had a blast and met some amazing people while helping support a great cause. Thanks to you and the entire #SFB15 team for all the hard work and commitment.
Thread.
I have to say the antisemites still have the capacity to surprise me. I thought I could predict what they'd do next. But, since the ceasefire, they've surprised me.
Ranked choice voting was invented in the 1850s in Europe for multi-winner elections, and later adapted to its current single-winner form.
The first use of RCV in the U.S. occurred in 1915, when Ashtabula, Ohio, used it to elect its city council.
Here's how it works.
Best day of the fantasy football year as an invite from #SFB15 just arrived! Looking forward to meeting some great new people and helping raise money and awareness for @FantasyCaresOrg. Thanks @ScottFish24!
@JulieDzerowicz Thank you for attending, @JulieDzerowicz. The rise of anti-semitism in our riding has been dramatic and needs to be stopped. Education and awareness are essential to get to the core challenges and do the work work of eradicating hatred.
@GeoffLambert77@crewser128 I haven't received an invite for sfb this year but am still following the mock drafts and discussion in the GoingFor2DotCom discord- the people and the conversation are just that good! Everyone should join
