@artdetective So the value to the auction house is that there is a guaranteed bid/purchaser? Or is there some other value to the auction house that I am not understanding? if exceeded they will pay the museum some percentage of sale— What is typical %
a trip to Buffalo to see Stanley Whitney show and make a little art. listened to Hanif Abdurraqib read his latest “There’s always this year” — the perfect first read. As expected Hanif is a perfect road trip companion @BuffaloAKG@NifMuhammad
@Tylerjoelb We finally switched off our ATT. Slow, expensive and multiple failed attempts to remove a 7/month rental fee for a modem we purchased. Couldn’t be happier w new service. 20x faster and 40% the price.
@RexChapman Late 70s, I clearly remember nfl commentators discussing that black athletes could not be QB bc they were not intelligent enough. Was not coded (as it later became)
Besides that one complaint— I love the Cincinnati art museum — great collection and beautifully curated. I always visit some old friends: Soutine, Botticelli, Rubens, Matisse, Mauve
Hey art lovers. Of all my many museum visits this Andy Warhol of Pete Rose at @cincyartmuseum ranks as my biggest waste of museum wall space. What’s yours?
The only contemporary/modern piece with a fence in front of it. A beautiful Diebenkorn @Diebenkorn_fnd next to it in poor light half hidden by a pillar.
@JANUSZCZAK I visit dozens of museums a year but have been avoiding premiere museums and blockbusters bc you just can’t see the art for the crowds (wo VIP access)
One of the aspects of looking at paintings I cherish.
I stand alone with a painting slowly taking it in. I’m standing where a long gone friend once stood. And also my beloved, the artist, other artists whom I admire, a younger version of myself.
