@DrEilidhMaria@justcronners Yeah it might be but that still doesn’t change the need to look at the amount you would actually earn in the tax year, with the deduction of non taxable aspects ie pension but also you can’t get out of paying the tax owed,
@DrEilidhMaria@justcronners Well not entire true as it’s still cumulative and post pension, PAYE Then looks at how much you have paid and how much left you would have to each threshold if you earnt that then adjusted for it, also you’re only getting £51k for 2/3 of the year so by averages it will be less.
Junior doctors in England, thank you for voting in the referendum and making your voices heard. The votes are tallied and 65.97% of you voted to ACCEPT the Government’s offer.
Your committee met this evening to ratify the result. We’ll be in touch soon about what happens next.
@Dr_BellaR All should align to your annualised work schedules and is each of those figures /12 months
1/ Basic pay is the average number of hours worked that month (or 40 hours/week x 52(ish) /12 months) at the base rate giving the monthly amount
@Dr_BellaR 3/ Night duty is the added rate to the base pay for the rates for the average nights per month ( so aligns with your work schedule saying approx 7 hours a week) and then the earned hours is multiple by 37% giving you 11.14 * by your rate
@Dr_BellaR 2/ adds roster hours NP if the average number of hours above 40 you worked that month (so for you you are on a 47ish hour working week so will be 7ish multiplied by the base rate.
@Anniedroid_@MiloKostusiak No definitely doesn’t as the now WTD (name changed after brexit) is very basic and if it was related then consultant and SAS would have the same rules and they don’t at all
@DrEilidhMaria Taking a multi year pay deal like before wouldn’t be acceptable at all, the DDRB is meant to (has last 2 years) been linked to inflation and gone above it. And therefore it not being inflation linked should not be a reason to accept or reject the current offer!
@TrishikaSuji If you look in the contract and the good rostering guide which almost all trusts are signed up to you will see that there should be a 2 week block in most rotas to allow annual leave for that period of time.
@zackferguson Will also have to redo all the mandatory training every 4 months, carpark will stop working and the computer systems will stop you getting access if your IG certificate is 3 months from expiring
@BMA_JuniorDocs @wesstreeting Now is the time we an all start meaningful negotiations and start repairing the NHS, let’s hope for an ongoing two way working with the Health sec and the BMA
So pleased to have been elected back into JDC (soon to be RDC) with all the change this year looks like I have some incredible opportunities to do some real good!! Also congrats to some of my fellow members @DrEilidhMaria@_VivekTrivedi#bma
@drmumsjt @criticalgassing @zoe_robertson1 If this is the case why has the date of the deadline not changed also! And why did it happen 1 hour before the deadline of the offers going out ?
Nurse practitioners are crucial to the delivery of safe, effective acute medical care. Over the years I’ve learned a great deal working with them. They’re not the enemy and I’d be very suspicious of anybody who tells you they are.
Day 2 of the @TheBMA East of England Tour! Good to speak to lots of #juniordoctors at Norfolk & Norwich Hospital who have voted 🗳️ yes and encouraging them to remind their colleagues!

For those who don't fully understand what is up with the NHS, here is a thread for you that might help.
I'm a consultant physician working as a doctor in the NHS in Yorkshire and Wales for 32 years now. I have experienced the NHS at its best (2008) and its worst (2022).
