@Roden2Orelvis For all their failings, the Jays have a solid track record of taking glove-first players and getting more out of them offensively. Galvis, Sogard, Espinal and IKF all had career years with Jays. Optimistic to see what they get from Straw, Gimenez and Varsho this year.
The Canadian Encyclopedia asked @Niigaanwewidam and I to help set the record straight on the legacy of John A. Macdonald. Rather than unapologetically celebrate Macdonald, we argue he should be remembered, not exalted or emulated: https://t.co/TljiaRBwU7
#IDPD: Watch our new #HeritageMinute on Edwin Baker on this International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Blinded by a sniper’s bullet during the First World War, Baker would go on to be a co-founder of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. 1/7
"The ‘moderates’ got *their* candidate in every single election in which the Republicans nominated Trump: 2016 Clinton, 2020 Biden, 2024 Harris… and they lost to Trump two out of three times. And now they’re going to blame *the left* for that? No f*cking way."
My rant:
@JGoldberg12 Trade for Brent Rooker
Trade for Brendan Donovan to play 3B (he's blocked by Arenado, Horwitz is blocked by Vlad, seems perfect)
Sign Jeff Hoffman, Jose Leclerc, Trevor Williams (5th SP), and Kelly or Hagashioka (backup C)
Trade for/sign one more good RP and put YRod in the pen
@JGoldberg12 Given their dreadful offensive stats (among so much more), it'd be easy to fire the offensive coordinator and the guy who chose to double down on his failed strategy.
But the Jays seem more like a country club than a baseball club, so he might stay till his membership expires.
@JGoldberg12 If it was me: IKF, Guerrero, Green, and Bassitt.
But Atkins is so dogshit at asset management, if he's still calling the shots he likely won't admit failure and convert Bo into a stud or two, like they should. Bo's already gone. Trade him before his value tanks.
@JGoldberg12 Bichette is the one piece that could land them a real stud or two, even if he's slumping.
And really, if they're going to retool because the core has failed, why keep it intact?
@MarshaIIZach If they're going to retool because the core has failed, my guess is they won't keep the core intact. Bo's the piece that can land a real stud or two, especially with the Dodgers so desperate and other buyers in the mix as well. Too good an opportunity to pass up.
@Baseball_Jenn Not even close to a playoff team. A WC would only save face for Atkins and distract from the fact that the "sustainable contender" with "wave after wave" of talent he sold us on is the same old mushy middle team, but with a bottom-5 offense, bullpen and farm system.
