You can see the signing being obscured by the “Fear BSL (SESL) APPG could ‘cease to function’ without Tory representation” caption, suggesting a non-cultured deaf signing perspective. Nonetheless, the 🇬🇧 terp can be seen fingerspelling G-R-A-H-A-M: https://t.co/tCi1yRQOCp
Us: We were born in Scotland, and raised and educated in Scotland and… *ANGRY SLAMMING*
The British Deaf Association: NO, YOU’RE DEAF, THAT’S ALL! IT’S CALLED BRITISH DEAF CULTURE!
We never understood their determination to *say* deaf culture as a way of arguing that we’re not Scottish, linguistically and culturally, because we’re deaf signers.
Imagine arguing the same more than a hundred years ago with places such as Ireland.
Westminster: Look, it’s because of hearing culture where we must oppress Scotland’s self-determination. That’s why we’re establishing the concept of Westminster sovereignty over the Scottish people.

OH! IT’S A DIFFERENT STORY FOR FLANDERS FROM PROF. FLEMISH-NORTH BRITISH: https://t.co/DHR2yrnqFA
Damn, we’re not intelligent enough here in Scotland to run oor own affairs, to even sign in oor ain language, or even to run oor ain museum: https://t.co/OGJ49fBqnC
Interesting, because the Scottish independent education system has ALWAYS been an independent Scottish institution since its inception.
Unfortunately, Signs@HWU is a Unionist institution.
Neil Gunn was actually influenced by William Sharp under the pseudonym of Fiona Macleod, and it even goes all the way back to Patrick Geddes’ Celtic Revival in Edinburgh via the Edinburgh Celtic circle.
Neil Gunn is one of the most underrated Scottish writers.
Cool to see the book, The Grey Coast, it was first originally published 100 years ago! (Republished really recently: https://t.co/NGchWdzO3I)
I ken a gloghole That looks at the sky As much as to say ‘I’m as deep as you’re high.’

An interesting post from not too long ago, and we were told that most deaf signing academics, along with hearing academics, don’t really understand the history of Scotland adequately: https://t.co/8RhE049RCO
(You can see them fearing losing their so-called One Nation ideology!)
The British Deaf Association will have no qualms about working with Reform UK (https://t.co/wFDkgHQgDU), and we know that British hearing linguists at the heart of the BDA are committed to Muscular Unionism. But now, we have a form of Cultural Colonialism: https://t.co/DKOJFGskKf
