My point is the person making the report is in the wrong here but the kid handled it the right way.
Totally agree, people should be held accountable for false reporting but it’s the way it is now, err on the side of caution.
My kids call it ‘swatting’.
Kids call in a report on a fellow student and a bunch of police show up to the kids house.

Very very different; a surveillance camera does not exhibit individual intent.
It’s not only weird, it’s rude.
if someone requests you stop intentionally filming them and you continue it borders on harassment.
Doing this to customers is sabotaging someone’s livelihood.

If you abuse our rights, in this case, to disrupt someone’s livelihood you’ve crossed the line. It can easily be argued that this person is harassing potential customers and damaging the store owner’s business.

There’s a BIG difference between a surveillance camera and an individual intentionally pointing a camera at someone.
It’s call individual intent.

That’s absurd, the Constitution is the framework of our judicial system it’s not a policing handbook.
The reality is often one person’s‘freedoms’ infringes another person’s rights and the laws have evolved because of this.
When someone files a complaint against you the police are compelled to respond, how someone handles that response matters, it’s not a Constitutional issue.
