@dcinvestor Saw stones on an old personal scale in India when I was 18. It wasn't the biggest culture shock of that trip, but over a decade later, I still remember thinking wtf is this.
@LynAldenContact Long COVID having an outsized impact on labor force —> low unemployment (higher disability) —> what happens from there, I have no idea. I’d consider healthcare costs go up, no clue whether continued hikes due to low unemployment.
@dcinvestor 1) Don’t go so hard I guess
2) proper warm up and cool down will help reduce soreness
3) hydrate
4) some people claim reduced soreness from foam rolling before or after a workout
Your body will get used to this too. It’s been a long time so this is normal.
@ddwchen PT here. Have seen studies and professional takes that agree with this. Fun fact: in a good hospital, within 6 hours of a total knee or hip replacement, PT and/or OT have come to get a patient out of bed and walking as much as they're able to in order to improve outcomes.
@0xQuit@FanFarting That’s one of the ways we PTs know is musculoskeletal. If we can reproduce it with movement, it’s less likely to be something like a spleen or appendix issue, and more likely to be muscle and joint related
@0xQuit Ice for pain, heat for muscle relaxation. Many like alternating b/w the 2 thru the day. Move the parts and directions that don’t hurt, don’t let everything stiffen. TENS units can help for emergencies too. Can elaborate if needed.
