As I evolve as a therapist, I have found on an individual basis, that a 30 minute chat with a client can be of more use to them than a 30 minute massage. Changing their perception on what massage does and does not do can be a game changer to that client.
This is a small study but the message is something that should be strongly enforced among people with persistent pain who have been sedentary. A little bit of activity/exercise even of low intensity is beneficial.
