@calvinrobinson Catholics and Orthodox don't read their bibles. That was a big problem then and still a problem now. Thank God for the Reformation and how it opened the doors for us to be illumined by God's holy word.
Typical Western Protestant converts to Orthodoxy, upon disillusionment with their church/theology seek out other options. When converting to EO, they come to believe they've found the one true church. But they do so through Western rational, individual choices in their discovery.
A University of Central Florida commencement speaker was mercilessly booed after telling graduates that AI is the "next Industrial Revolution"
The grads cheered when she said, "Only a few years ago, AI was not a factor in our lives"
Boys grades suffer most in single mom homes where there is no male role model to mimic.
Plus, laws generally incentivize women to divorce & avoid marriage to retain welfare benefits.
The good news is more research is showing the obvious: we should incentivize enduring marriage.
"The Boy Crisis"
Everyone's talking about it. Fewer are asking where it hits hardest. The answer: broken families.
New @FamStudies@azpolicy shows boys raised outside an intact family most likely to fail in school, get in trouble & be depressed. For instance:
@jmhorp The trades are an arguably smarter path to avoid debt & learn tangible skills that are increasingly needed. A young man can make 50k as apprentice then 70k as journeyman by age 21.
There's also great reward in working with your hands in a dominant knowledge economy.
Or perhaps college has fled from young men. I'd argue it's a bit of both. A few reasons:
--Women makeup about 4/5 of HS teachers.
--Girls have higher college acceptance rates.
--Social Emotional Learning, prevalent in K-12, teaches students that feminine traits are preferred.
Demoting men doesn't serve women. It actually produces less happiness, less marriage, less wealth, less generosity, less community, less protection, less honor, less sacrifice, less children & less everything that is good and holy--for all of us. Figure credited to @JamesLNuzzo
@CoachMarkPope Coach Pope. Our family is pulling for you, the staff, and the team. I remember being in a food line with you...I think at the grill inside Holmes Hall.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us

@KySportsRadio Seems kinda obvious. People watch live sports on Amazon Prime. I've had discussions with guys where we all said college sports should be doing this. Maybe normal fans are ahead of the curve.
