Returning to the USAID litigation for an update:

The D.C. Judge overseeing the case issued a "TRO" back on Feb. 13 directing that funds be released on USAID/State Dept. contracts/grants for work done up through Feb. 12.

But he left open the option of the Trump Admin to review the contracts according to their own terms and the various statutes and regulations by which the operate and are enforced.

So, between Feb. 13 and Feb. 26, the Trump Admin reviewed all the contracts to determine if they were worth continuing based on changed foreign policy views of the new Admin.

The easiest example is USAID grants intended to fund "green energy" efforts in foreign countries. The new Admin thinks that is all "wasted" money.

Today Sec. Rubio announced that approximately 5200 of the 5700 hundred grants/contracts being administered by USAID and/or State Dept. are being cancelled -- which is allowed under the terms of the agreements.

It remains to be seen just what the DC Judge does in trying to enforce his TRO and any Preliminary Injunction he might impose. Last week four members of the Supreme Court strongly suggested that he likely lacks jurisdiction to do any of the things he is doing, but the Court was not yet ready to take up his actions on their merits.

I suspect that if the Judge attempts to order any relief that attempts to superseding the State Departments authority under the terms of the contracts to cancel them, we'll see a very quick trip back to the Supreme Court.

As a teen, I was at a Planned Parenthood because my parents were pressuring me to have an abortion. During my visit, I was clearly in distress. I told the woman examining and counseling me that I didn’t want an abortion - that I’d already had one, it was terrible experience, and I didn’t think I could handle another one.

She didn’t offer me an ounce of compassion or empathy. She showed zero concern. She didn’t offer me emotional support or services.

No. She shrugged and said, “That’s normal” and proceeded to join my parents in pressuring me to abort.

This is a true story. One of many in which women were coerced, pressured, and manipulated by abortion clinic staff into abortions they didn’t want.

This is just one of many reasons we should defund Planned Parenthood.
