LHP Joseph Dzierwa(BAL):
The O’s have struggled to develop pitching and find themselves a true ace to hold down the rotation. Despite the pitching struggles, it has been almost 10 years since Baltimore has draft a pitcher in the 1st round. The last time the Orioles used a 1st round selection on a pitcher was Grayson Rodriguez in 2018. Despite the plus talent, Dzierwa was not the one end the dry spell. He was selected in the 2nd round during the 2025 draft, Dzierwa has shown potential to be one of the best Orioles pitching prospects in recent history. Having an above average frame standing 6’8 allows for elite vertical break and tougher release points/angles for opposing hitters to get a read. Dzierwa does not break the radar gun but consistently touches mid 90s with his fastball. A huge part to Dzierwa’s game is his elite control and ability to pound the strike-zone. Appearing in 15 games at the AA level following his promotion a few months back, Dzierwa has posted 0.86 WHIP with a 6% walk rate, striking out 28% of batters. The minor league season is winding down, Dzierwa’s opportunity to reach AAA is less likely until 2027 but he has definitely shown the potential to earn the yet another promotion. I expect to see Dzierwa in the majors by 2028 but assuming he reaches AAA in early 2027 and continues his success he could easily find himself at the MLB level in 2027 just 2 years after being drafted. #Orioles #MLB #JosephDzierwa
Yohandy Morales(WSH):
The Nationals have had a star studded history of developing talent who have gone on to be MVP/Cy Young caliber. The two obvious being Soto and Harper, before them dating back to guys such as Anthony Rendon and Steph Strasburg. Player development in Washington has been immaculate. The Nats are headed that way again, currently stacking their young talent lead by young stars James Wood and CJ Abrams both who are fresh off the all star game roster. The Nationals made out extremely well moving Soto to SD, Wood and Abrams being the focal points but you cannot forget to mention Mackenzie Gore, Robert Hassell, Jarlin Susana and Luke Voit. On paper the Nats lose a MVP bat, but did they ever get a return. Trades like the Soto move are always risky, it is common to see a prospect haul and only one maybe two guys workout. The Nats went nearly 100% with the success of their return as they developed their talent. That leads me to Yohandy Morales, another player who Washington has developed quite well. Drafted in the 2nd round of the MLB Draft, Morales struggled with power early in his professional career. He sped through the lower levels in the minors only appearing in 24 low-A games and 18 games at A+. While he did fly through those lower levels, his power was minimal. He appeared at the AA level in his rookie season which was an impressive feat, the following season he missed half of the year due to injuries with AA Harrisburg. Since then, Morales has come around and he has filled into his 6’3 225lb build. With a consistent increase in power over the last couple years, in 2026 Morales at the AAA level has exploded. In 12 less games compared to 2025, Morales has nearly doubled the amount of HRs while increasing his OPS almost +.200 to .917. He has been the heart of a strong AAA Rochester team who currently holds a 58% win percentage. Morales does struggle with swing and misses but has shown improvement handling the bat at the plate overall. He has shown a better availability to pull the ball and put the ball in the air more. There have been concerns in the past about Morales “swinging for the fences” hurting his contact rate. Morales is not the fastest on the bases and brings average defense with a well rounded arm, expectations is him moving to 1B eventually or possibly LF/RF. Morales has put together a successful 2026 campaign despite a few concerns and is a lead candidate for a MLB call-up in the 2nd half of the season. Morales is currently ranked the Nationals 28th prospect. #Nationals #MLB #YohandyMorales
Joshua Baez(STL):
The Cardinals may have found a future star with their 2021 2nd round pick. Being taken out of Dexter School in 2021 at the age of 18, Baez freshly turned 23 has put on a show a AAA. After coming out of his shell last year between AA/AAA hitting .287 with 20 HR and .884 OPS, Baez has topped that production in 2026. In 64% of games compared to 2025, Baez has already amassed his homeruns tot by 8 (28), 69 RBIs, .266 BA, and .944 OPS. It did take a few years for Baez to truly find his explosive power production that he possesses today. Since being drafted he has always had the potential to have an explosive bat with above average power. On top of Baez power, he can also steal bases above average. Swiping 54 bases in 2025, Baez has seen a dip in 2026 but still provides +speed on the bases and defensively. Baez does struggle with the swing and miss, missing 34% of swings and striking out 30% of the time. Putting him towards the bottom of the totem poll when it comes to strikeouts. The Cardinals appear to have found their young core coming along to pair with Wetherholt, Walker, Jordan, and Winn. The young guns in St Louis are starting to get big! #Cardinals #JoshuaBaez #MLB

LHP Jackson Kent(WSH):
After watching Jackson Kent pitch for Harrisburg, I was impressed with what he brings. Speeding through the minors, 18 games at A+, 13 games at AA & now recently promoted to AAA. Kent has potential to be a 1-2 guy in the rotation. #MLB#Nationals
With 2 months remaining in the regular season, as of today there are currently only 8 hitters over the .300 batting average threshold. Over the last 20 years the amount of hitters over that mark has sharply declined. What do you think is the main cause in this decline? How has it affected the sport? #MLB
Angel Genao(CLE):
Genao made his presence known at AA Akron this year in the 24 games with his .830 OPS, then receiving his promotion to AAA after the 1st month of the season where he did not slow down. Genao has always possessed an advanced approach at the plate and since making in professional baseball debut at 17 has produced across all levels. After appearing in 72 games at AAA, Genao was called up earlier this week. A true feel for the zone and ability to put the ball in play at an above average level is Genao’s strong suit. Being able to hit from both sides of the plate only makes him more valuable. He does it at an elite level too. Being able to hit off both LHP and RHP makes him more of a tough out than he already is. He tends be a future star with player comps to Jose Altuve offensively. He does possess some power, enough for 15+ HR seasons. With his small frame his power will come around more as he ages but does not be game changing. Genao is a reliable middle infielder with a strong arm and plus speed, he does incur minor fielding mistakes at times but those should iron out with experience. Look for Genao to be a key piece to Cleveland’s future. #Guardians #AngelGenao #MLB
There has been ongoing heartbreak in Baltimore after the O’s traded their star catcher Adley Rutschman to their divisional rivals Red Sox before yesterday’s trade deadline. Being an Oriole fan myself, it stings and has drawn major backlash from Oriole’s fans. While it has been an extremely frustrating time being and O’s fan for decades now especially the last 10 years, this move was one that made O’s fans highly question the future and hope for the once upon a time “rebuild” the O’s endured for many years. Despite the heart break of losing Adley, I am a huge fan of the trade and believe it was a great move for the organization. Adley was taken 1st overall and was supposed to be the leader to this heroic rebuild but did not live up to his full expectations. While he was the cornerstone of changing the O’s around, across 572 games slashed .254/.342/.414 with a .756 OPS and 115 OPS+. He did have a productive career offensively and defensively but not 1st overall pick worthy. O’s had a high ask for Adley as they very much should and got a hull in return. The package highlighted by young pitchers who have A potential. Headlined by Anthony Eyanson who is ranked 49th in the MLB in prospects and now ranks 1st in the O’s farm system. A 3rd round pick in 2025, he has been dominant all the way up through AA. Kyson Witherspoon the other headliner in the deal, Boston’s 2025 1st round pick who has shown effective stuff on the mound currently assigned to high-A. Carlos Narvaez is a solid MLB catcher who put together solid 2025 campaign with 15 HR, 50 RBI, .726 OPS and 101 OPS+ over 118 games. He has not had the best of production in 2026, but the ability is there. Lastly, OF Enddy Azocar who has been on a tear between low-A and High-A this season. In 85 games crushing 18 HR with 63 RBIs and .881 OPS. While the O’s are only a few games out of the playoffs many questioned why sell? The price was right and the O’s got an major return for their star. This was the perfect time to move Adley and for the return it makes sense. The O’s have a playoff caliber roster but with lack of performances from key players has limited their wins. This revitalization for the O’s farm system is key and could boost energy for a young O’s team. I expect them to stay in the playoff race despite selling. They still have future stars that have yet to fully blossom in Holliday, Mayo and Basallo. Now they add more young talent to their organization in the mix with the rest, despite them “selling” they are still a team with high potential in 2027 and could make a run 2026. Come the offseason the O’s NEED to spend big $ on key free agent acquisitions and come 2027 will be another year for their young stars to grow. The O’s are on the brink of reaching their potential and this is a big stepping stone. If the O’s fail to land major star(s) in free agency during the winter it will truly be a flabbergasting moment for birdland. #Orioles #RedSox #AdleyRutschman #MLB
Tigers:
5.5 GB from 1st in division, 2.5 GB of a wild card spot. Have a solid roster, only to trade away one of the best pitchers in baseball. Zyhir Hope looks promising. Outside of him, for one of the best pitchers in baseball you do not land a top 20 MLB prospect when the Dodgers have 3 of them???
The Dodgers have caused the game of baseball to be questionable at times with their star power and abuse of no salary cap. Although you cannot be mad at the Dodgers for this, the Tigers dropped the ball big time getting a lack of a return for one of the best pitchers in the league. #Tigers #Dodgers #MLB #TarikSkubal #MLBTradeDeadline
The Tigers should not trade Skubal. PAY HIM. Spend money in the offseason adding key pieces and let the young core Clark, McGonigle and Greene flourish. Sell Torres and Baez this year at the deadline. They have a great core to build around, moving Skubal is not the answer. #Tigers #MLB #MLBTradeDeadline #TarikSkubal
As the trade deadline looms, here are 15 teams that are on the fence and how I believe they should approach the deadline.
Notable mentions:
Red Sox: Buy if the price is right. If a deal is not there, ride it out.
Phillies: Buy if the price is right. If deal is not there, ride it out.
Marlins: Sell.
Cardinals: Ride it out, entertain trade offers (sell).
Diamondbacks: Sell.
Mariners: Ride it out, entertain trade offers.
Rangers: Ride it out, entertain buying.
Tigers: Ride it out, entertain offers(sell).
Twins: Ride it out, entertain buy and sell offers.

Franklin Arias(BOS):
Arias has taken a big step during his 2026 campaign. Currently ranked the 7th prospect in the MLB, Arias has not only seen a rise in the prospect rankings but also in his production. Signing as an international free agent, Arias made his pro debut at 17 and has seen his share of pro baseball as was recently promoted to AAA. After a career year at AA Portland, Arias showed an increase in power at the plate after having minimal power numbers in years prior. At one point he was thought to be a serious threat on the bases it, but it appears Arias has taken a less aggressive approach on the bases and is focusing more on his at bats. Swiping 35 stolen bases in a single season a few years ago, Arias combined in his last 2 seasons has swiped half the amount. Still possessing average speed allows for Arias to still move on the bases paths at times and cover ground at shortstop. Being an above average defender at short is a bonus for the strong production he provides at the plate. Having star level bat to ball skills and putting the ball in play makes for a ton of quality at bats. Arias has a real shot to make the major league level at the age of 21 and looks to be an all star caliber infielder with potential to hit 20+ HRs a season, driving in runs and minimizing strikeouts, while providing a reliable glove in the infield. #RedSox #FranklinArias #MLB
Ethan Petry(WSH):
Petry power! Ethan Petry has emerged as one of the best young power hitters in the Nationals system. Drafted last summer in the 2nd round, Petry has already climbed the ranks to AA. Appearing in 25 games at low-A in 2025, Petry began his 2026 campaign at A+, in 43 games posting a .913 OPS with 34 RBI. A little over a months play in AA, Petry has nearly reached the same total of homeruns in 66 less ABs. Petry bring elite power to the plate, making loud contact on a consistent basis and putting the ball in the air at a high rate. In his tenure at the AA level Petry has posted a 0.61 GO/AO ratio. Striking out nearly 30% of the time has been a main weakness in Petry’s game but the ideal build and bat speed make for a dang combination. Speed is another weak spot in Petry’s game, but fortunately you do need speed when you crush the ball over the fence. Defensively, Petry possesses a solid arm, but lack of speed limits his ability to cover ground. In the long run look for Petry to find a home at 1B, but in his younger years the corner OF positions is where you will likely see him. At only 22 years old, Petry has time to fill out his 6’4 frame making him a very dangerous hitter not only now but later in his career. Currently ranked the Nationals 13th prospect, but Petry is one who has turned my head. The power is legit, controlling the strikeouts and OBP is the main areas of focus for long term success. #Nationals #EthanPetry #MLB
Maxwell Romero Jr(WSH):
Maxwell Romero Jr like multiple fellow teammates have found their stride in 2026. Following hot starts from INF Seaver King and LHP Jackson Kent who received AAA promotions, Romero may be next in line. After 231 games in 3 seasons across A/AA Romero Jr combined for 23 HRs. In 35 games in 2026 Romero has almost half of that (10 HR) in 85% less games. Romero Je remains unranked in the Nationals top 30 prospects but at the age of 25 there is still room for him to make an impact at the major league level. With a crowed catcher room in Washington it may be difficult for Romero Jr to thrive in DC, the best case scenario for both sides may be leverage him in trade talks at some point in time. With Caleb Lomavita (27th ranked WSH prospect), Harry Ford (7th ranked WSH prospect) and Keibert Ruiz (27 y/o, former top prospect) currently holding down the catcher position, the outlook for Romero Jr in DC is hazy but the potential is there. #Nationals #MaxwellRomeroJr #MLBProspects #MLB

The 2026 MLB Draft is today, here are my top 15 prospects ranked in order of future potential they could bring to a ball club!
Notable Mentions:
Eric Booth Jr(OF): Choppy swing at times and smaller build, I believe will level out to be a speed threat and plus defender with average-below average offensive production with homerun potential at times.
Justin Lebron(SS): Struggles with understanding the strike zone. Struggles with breaking balls. Has good bat speed and potential for power but strikeout numbers and lack of patience. If he irons out his struggles against pitches out of the zone he could be an above average hitter. Currently see him being a power threat (20+ HR a season) with an average sub .240.
Tyler Bell(SS): Great player with potential, injuries are very concerning for me.
Ryder Helfrick(C): Great defender behind the plate, checking all the boxes. Offensively struggles hitting off speed and breaking balls. I expect production at/below average, homerun potential (15+ HR a season) with a sub .240 batting average.
Trevor Condon(OF): Smaller build, 18 years old with great speed and defensive ability. Has struggled to put the ball into the air, power may be minimal but could come with time. Above average contact hitter, could be leadoff material or bottom of the line speed threat with +defense and speed.
#MLBDraft #MLB
Mike Sirota(LAD):
Mike Sirota has made his presence known at the plate since being drafted. Originally drafted by the Reds, later to be traded for 2B Gavin Lux Sirota has shown elite ability to get on base. A career .331 batting average to go along with 26 HR, 100 RBI, .471 OBP and 1.062 OPS across all levels. Sirota has made headlines with his on base streak in the minors. He has sped through levels in the minors and has not shown signs of slowing down, being an on base machine. While his bat is where most eyes go, he possesses +speed benefiting him on the base paths and defense. A solid arm makes him a well rounded defender in the outfield and potential to be a star down the road if he can continue to produce. The Dodgers do have a crowded major league roster and other notable names in competition for a roster spots in the future such as Josue De Paula (4th ranked MLB prospect), Zyhir Hope(19th ranked MLB prospect), Eduardo Quintero(31st ranked MLB prospect), James Tibbs (95th ranked MLB prospect) and Charles Davalan(86th ranked MLB prospect). All of which have their eyes set on the major league roster in the coming years. You have to believe the Dodgers being the contenders they are, a few of the names I mentioned could be used to land a star at the trade deadline. Although Sirota being one of them is unlikely as he has good chance of being a top of the lineup guy who gets on base at high rates, can hit for power on occasion and stretch the bases. #Dodgers #MLB #MikeSirota
