@TheHuntsladyMHW It's clunky and necessary for optimal dps. The only weapons it feels good to use on are hammer and lance, for the others it's a necessary chore rather than a fun addition to the moveset.
@Be4st_Within@TweetingGaruga I don't think we learned anything about the purpose of Guardians. Arkveld is special because the original monster already had the ability to siphon energy, which led to Guardian Arkveld subverting its programming by consuming other monsters as opposed to living of Wylk
@derJamesJackson The "historical responsibility" is to prevent atrocities as those committed by Nazi Germany, not uncritical support for Jewish people. Funny how that support doesn't extended toward countless other minorities that died in the Holocaust.
@r1salt@oppabo Vanilla ice cream pressed through a ricer as spaghetti, strawberry sauce as tomato sauce and white chocolate shavings as Parmesan cheese
@TweetingGaruga@TheBasedMudfish Even if you use them to your advantage they disrupt the flow of the hunt, because aerial attacks and animations just do not fit into the loop of any of the weapons. Overall I wish they'd either drop verticality entirely or rework it majorly because as it is it just feels awkward.
@TweetingGaruga@TheBasedMudfish I enjoy positioning based combat as well, but like I said the ledges are basically deadzones to me since the animation locking will get me hit more often than not so I just avoid that area of the arena entirely. It just doesn't feel well integrated into the combat loop.
@TweetingGaruga@TheBasedMudfish I just feel very strongly about ledges and slopes, so they drag down any area they are in with very few exceptions. (the area in the coral highlands that is almost entirely a slope for example, there it feels very intentional)
@TweetingGaruga@TheBasedMudfish I find them to be 95% detriment. The upside is a very restrictive mounting attack. The downside is i frame interrupting animation. To me they are basically a stage hazard without the areas being designed around them being a stage hazard.
@TweetingGaruga@TheBasedMudfish My main issue is how the hunter interacts with those environments. Ledges and slopes being the main culprit. I don't like having to limit myself to a tiny area, because using the full area would mean I'm near a ledge that could get me hit as my hunter initiates a climb animation.
@TweetingGaruga@TheBasedMudfish Mostly talking about the entire north side of the map, which is basically one long corridor (aside from the area where the hanging rock trap is. Though most areas on that map either have too much elevation change or clutter around to ever be fun to fight in.
@TheBasedMudfish@TweetingGaruga The only thing I dislike about the ancient forest to this day is the area sizes. I distinctly remember the Zinogre Event quest for farming being really obnoxious because the areas were very clearly too small to accommodate most monsters.
