Until now, I have felt the need to make many public statements about R.J. May, as he was not removed from the SC Freedom Caucus during my time as a representative and supposed probationary member, and had not been charged with any wrongdoing–that is, until today. Why? Because the first report by @fitsnews showed many of the exact same facts initially as of the time the SC Freedom Caucus released their statement. There was no charges listed when they released their statement and the same news outlets were reporting.

Mr. May had involvement in my opponents campaign for State House, Elizabeth Enns, when I initially ran and for those that remember, it was extremely dishonest. In the time since my election, he had not attend republican caucus meetings or participate in our activities, and I did not work with him in any professional capacity. I have called out the bs narrative he has stirred since i was elected. First and foremost, the “loyalty oath” Make no mistake about it and i can show that I have posted for 3 years, members of the FC left the caucus in order to PROTECT RJ. The only reason a rule was written about campaigning against Caucus members Is because RJ made a living recruiting candidates to run against Republicans. I even proposed a bill to make it illegall in SC for a sitting member to run campaigns within the body they serve. It was objected to by many FC members on the floor. Remember……I keep receipts.

The crimes he is alleged to have committed are beyond disgusting. I posted a couple of descriptions of videos or conversations that were released today. Not only have I called this out time and time again since August while others defended or deflected it, I also called it out on the floor. I believe I am the only one to have called him out on the floor. I hope a full accounting of his behavior and those involved is made public as soon as possible. It is owed to the great people of South Carolina. While I believe in the principle of our justice system, that individuals are innocent until proven guilty, I have stated from the beginning that the allegations of CSAM deserved expulsion from the Freedom Caucus. Under law, we couldn’t suspend him until charged, caucus rules aren’t the same. He has had all privileges revoked as if right now. If found guilty, he should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. I would love for my castration bill to pass as well. I have confidence in our law enforcement and justice system to pursue this matter thoroughly.

Finally, I hope that the constituents of his district receive new representation since they have deserved a fully-engaged representative 7 months ago who can serve their interests. Instead, he continued to get paid for consulting while being paid by taxpayers as well. He knew all of this was coming. Why didn’t he give his caucus colleagues this information to begin with instead of allowing them to defend him.
