@ALegendaryDrops And SteamOS is just a Linux distro.
Pick any distro you want today and install it right now.
Using your own hardware you'll have better power & thermals but not form factor.
@bee_fumo@PotionDweller Reminds me of the log cabin toy I had as a kid.
It's not a terrible concept, dowels to pin the wood together. You'd probably have to solder the wiring with how small it is.
Along with the tiny engines it'd be a good gift for a teenager.
@valvesoftware Fuck scalpers.
Implement a priority system for the upcoming Frame and Machine orders. Older accounts, those who have wish-listed for months, and active accounts should come first.
Nintendo did the same with the Switch 2.
@Pirat_Nation Valve needs to implement a priority system similar to what Nintendo did.
Older accounts and those with it on their wish list for months should get a priority opportunity to buy.
@ALegendaryDrops You know I feel like people can't separate characters from themselves anymore. Everything has to be a self insert, no one can enjoy a character as a character.
Recently someone described a movie to me with terms of 'I' and 'we'.
Literacy rates and comprehension are falling.
@Diptipper That's really cool, great job on the progress.
Really nice to see as one of the things I struggle with the most is keeping notes. I'm sure getting to look back helps keep your motivation up.
Dragon Baby is another destructive localization company founded by Jeremy Blaustein & "Sam" Burton. Blaustein is known for his work on Metal Gear Solid & reportedly removed after Kojima was unhappy that he deviated too far from the original script.
Burton is some "trans" localizer who (typical of localizers) thinks vandalizing the Japanese script is creativity & provides "narrative" & "consulting" services. Burton also seems to believe excessive swearing & constantly referencing elements of darkness is a personality, which is demonstrated throughout the DB site.
Dragon Baby calls themselves a "creative outsourcing solution," focuses on being "trans-led," says "the gaming industry deserves better" (despite being a glaring example of what's wrong with it), claim to be birthed of goat sacrifices, & aptly refer to the companies they work with as "sacrifices," because their entire existence is predicated upon the vandalization of Japanese media & they're proud of it.
The "core team" is apparently based in Japan & frankly they need to be deported for cultural vandalism. This is not a company that should ever be allowed to work on Japanese media ever again & any company who has worked with them in the past should revisit the scripts & seek restitution for any edits that change the meaning of their work.
Japanese companies need to revamp their approach to English translation of their works, because so many of these localizers are committed to being unfaithful to the original script, both by design of their worldview & the stated purpose of localization itself.
Japan needs better screening & to create a contract that explicitly states that any changes that run contrary to the original Japanese will be penalized.
Apparently the localization team is Dragonbaby. Their Head of Localization Sam Burton was also involved in Eiyuden Chronicle's localization, another infamously terrible one that completely butchered the characters' personalities and dialogue. That certainly explains a lot.
