Hot evening, not a great surface but for me one of the most disappointing England performances since GS took over.

Ukraine hunkered down and just sat in and we didn't have the nouse ( worryingly) to use width ( 1 v 1 instead of congested cental areas) to get behind and around Ukraine. That's an in game player issue not manager issue. There's enough experience now even amongst the youngsters to have the tools to find answers to a team simply defending deep. So that's on the players..

As for personnel, even more convinced Foden as a 10 for the next 10-15 games is a must. Give this kid his head and responsibility to open up doors, create chances and dictate play. With Rice and Bellingham alongside him, he'll get all of the great support he needs for it to become a superb midfield.

Saka needs to mix things up more, wants to come inside way too much, not going to score a worldie every game so needs to remind himself he's there to serve strikers too. Likewise Rashford who looked lost when not having lots of space to run into, he should have gone alongside Kane much more and used his strikers instinct within the width of the box, the lad is no winger against a low block.

Hope we aren't going to have another great generation of players and not know how to use them and they not have the savvy to be able to make sound on pitch decisions against, let's face it, a very average Ukraine team.
