"Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love, they depart to teach us about loss. A new dog never replaces an old dog; it merely expands the heart. If you have loved many dogs, your heart is very big." – Erica Jong
I took some time this weekend to look at the government numeracy tests that elementary teachers are required to administer to our youngest children. Many of the questions are timed and address material not yet taught, at a time when teachers should be building relationships. 1/6

Proud to speak at the Ditch the Draft rally today along with other great speakers who each highlighted why this draft K-6 curriculum will set students back if it’s implemented. We must do better for our students and their future. #DitchTheDraft
It will take time to review the entire Bill, as once again the ATA was NOT meaningfully consulted on the content or the way it could impact the ATA, teachers and the profession. Lack of consultation is a running theme with this government, for example-- the draft curriculum.
Exactly a week ago I posted that Andriy Khlyvnyuk, lead singer of #Ukraine rock group #Boombox was injured in the war.
Now some fans have "virtually" joined him for a version of "Oi u luzi chervona kalina" (Oh red viburnum in the meadow)
Be sure to watch to the VERY END😉
Happy International Women's Day!

A second video in the series. This carelessly cobbled together curriculum should not go forward. Follow me for new videos from A Very Concerned Albertan. Please retweet, share on other media and advocate for our children. @cpeck3 https://t.co/oQQb8sgi2J
Everyone keeps talking about covid becoming endemic, but as I listen to the conversation, it’s becoming more & more clear to me that very few of you know what “endemic” means.
So here’s a thread on how pandemics end.
Albertans trust teachers & the ATA far more than they trust the UCP. If we really want to keep our kids safe (and, for that matter, our entire province) the best thing to do is defeat the UCP. Here’s my response to Kenney’s slanderous attack on teachers. https://t.co/4XRgliCMKt
It’s time for MLAs to stand up for our children and their futures. Stand for education: send your MLA an email and demand they stand with parents and teachers. https://t.co/0Z19MUZwYk #abed#StandForEducation#ableg
