I've been working on a trading journal as a bit of a passion project using Claude Code. I saw a lot of people shipping journals so I decided to keep it 100% built to my specification. It uses an Obsidian vault as its underlying source of truth.
I bought some OKLO in Tuesday's session but haven't been able to log it in the journal until tonight so here's a peak at the journal entry I made.
All of these entries are .md files I store locally but when I view or edit them in the app I get the nice user interface and it lets me build some pretty cool features.
I think you have to treat crypto, or anything for that matter, as a trade with stop losses in place or youβre just going to end up a victim of manipulation. No asset is safe now in 2026 look what theyβve done with gold and now oil. Find a real strategy, make βtradesβ not βinvestmentsβ and pursue other methods to generate income. Or you will go nowhere.
Working on my Claude Code project from my phone using the Remote Control feature today!
Probably the most hectic feature yet! The build is nearing completion will just need some rigorous testing soon I reckon!
Keen to get home and see this thing built π«£
Was a busy weekend working on my personal spec trading journal app! Revamped the UI along with a bunch of cleanup for the watchlist logic.
Theres still more features that aren't fully fleshed out yet, and a powerful secret feature that my fellow Aussie traders would love!
Happy Monday!
@Albert_618 love the story bro. this kind of experience gives someone street smarts and knowledge of human nature that most people don't have. and it can also be these decisions in life that break your mind out of that matrix mentality π
2am Claude sessions go crazy! Loving Opus 4.8.
Just built possibly my favourite feature yet... Upgraded the Economic Calender widget so it's split with a news aggregator. It pulls posts from your chosen X or Telegram accounts for news updates and lets you filter out marketing and non-news posts, or you can filter out anything thats not finance related in case the timeline is getting flooded with geopolitics etc.
Also if tickers are mentioned it will generate a link that takes you to the given asset page in your journal so you can make a new entry or check what you've currently got on it.
I also fixed the Session Times widget, so it recognises when markets are closed for the weekend. Earlier tonight it was trying to tell me that London and NY were open π
Off to bed now, gn!
Highlighting yet another feature from my personal spec trading journal app I am working on...
A feature you might have peeped in an earlier post where I showed the home page - a Market Sessions and Economic Calender widget.
Nothing you haven't seen before but I liked the idea that the journal app could be a one-stop-shop companion to TradingView, aside from your broker/exchange of course.
@SteveMoraco can i see the tiktok? i'm interested in this space but I am told that TikTok's AI rules complicate things. what do you post? do you use it for marketing?
@AffanKakar23974 Yes for now, but I have a mobile version in the scope. But since journals are saturated right now, I am keeping this as more of a passion project and lower priority. Things can always change but we'll see how it goesπ I like that it is built perfectly for me right now.
A nifty feature of the journal is that you can just type your thoughts and let Claude come up with a title for entry. Claude generated this title once I got this far into my entry this morning.
The advantage of the app running on the top of an Obsidian vault is I get a clean interface to make documenting ideas faster, log trades and POIs into my trackers without the friction of using Obsidian.
