@zalisteggall@tonyvink We don't even have to look that far: Black Summer bushfires, more frequent flooding in NSW, widespread coral bleaching... but it's easier to dismiss things you don't understand right Tony?
@heymrsbond I'm sorry you copped so much rubbish for that tweet. I completely understood the point you were making. I have to intentionally carve out the space in my life for reading, using audio books for the majority because life is too damn busy. And I'm an English teacher too.
Just imagine if terrorists had somehow caused all this damage, and killed 158 people (so far) in a single event. The media would be apoplectic with rage, and the West would mobilise.
But the rich are getting richer from wrecking the climate ... so the cause is barely whispered.
JD Vance is a good debater because he is a smooth and confident liar. He looks directly into the camera with a benign expression and lies over and over again. If you win a debate by lying, the American people are the ones who really lose.
The Australian mainstream media aren't showing this. I wonder why? @abcnews had time to promote Backroads and Austin during news bulletins but not catastrophic natural disasters! Don't want to scare ppl - they might pay more attention to our govt's active support of fossil fuels!
It’s hard to process the denial right now. The most shocking videos on TikTok of the historic flooding in North Carolina etc. Barely reported in news media. Record rainfall, record heat across the world. No celebrities talking about climate change. We are trapped in a nightmare.
