Premier of Greenland 🇬🇱 statement this morning;
This morning, I am both saddened and grateful 🇬🇱
Saddened, because during a press conference last night, the President of the United States once again expressed a desire to take over Greenland. With such statements, our country is reduced to a question of security and power. That is not how we see ourselves, and it is not how Greenland can or should be spoken about.
We are a people with a long history, a strong culture, and a vibrant democracy. We are a country with responsibility for our own territory and for our own future. Our territorial integrity and our right to self-determination are firmly anchored in international law and cannot simply be ignored.
That is also why I am grateful.
Thank you to everyone here at home for the clear support and unity that has been shown. The calmness and dignity with which you have met this situation send a strong signal of a people who stand firm in their values and in their responsibility.
I would also like to thank heads of government and partners around the world who have clearly and unequivocally expressed their respect for Greenland, for our democratic institutions, and for the fundamental principles of international law. That support confirms that we here at home do not stand alone.
Once again: Greenland is our country. Decisions are made here. And I will at all times fight for our freedom and our right to decide for ourselves and to shape our own future.
For now, I hope that the peace of Christmas can settle over us all.
Merry Christmas 🇬🇱💙🇬🇱
There is a glaringly obvious message for Europe in the 28 point plan: This is the end of the end.
We have been told repeatedly and unambiguously that Ukraine’s security, and therefore Europe’s security, will be Europe’s responsibility. And now it is. Entirely.
If you are a European leader asking your team to book you on the next flight to Washington to go talk to Daddy, please don’t.
Not without a plan, not cap in hand, not humiliating us all in front of the cameras at the Oval office.
Europe is our continent, our future is decided here, not there. We aren’t poor, we have options, we can finally decide to assist Ukraine to the full extent of our very extensive capabilities, restore European dignity and defend Europe.
Or we can continue to wait for the miracle we now know is not coming.
A russian flag tie. At the White House. To meet Zelensky. American politicians like Hegseth know exactly what message they’re sending. They don’t hide the fact they are on the Kremlin payroll and completely compromised. They are traitors.
Trump: "Now, it's really up to President Zelensky to get it done."
WRONG. It's up to murderous Russian war criminal Vladimir Putin to get the fuck out of Ukraine.
Trump literally had uniformed active duty soldiers on their hands and knees rolling out the red carpet for a genocidal dictator who has killed millions of people around the world the last 26 years.
America has fallen.
Please stop calling them “retaliation strikes.”
This isn’t retaliation — it’s a full-scale, unprovoked war Russia has been waging since February 24, 2022.
Russia doesn’t need a reason to bomb Ukraine.
Call it what it is: a genocidal war of aggression.
Putin invaded Ukraine. He started this war. Talking about the “conflict” as if both sides are fault is wrong. Please don’t let this Russian framing take hold.
This morning, two Russian missiles struck the heart of the city of Sumy in Ukraine, causing numerous civilian casualties, including children once again.
Everyone knows: this war was initiated by Russia alone. And today, it is clear that Russia alone chooses to continue it — with blatant disregard for human lives, international law, and the diplomatic efforts of President Trump.
Strong measures are needed to impose a ceasefire on Russia. France is working tirelessly toward this goal, alongside its partners.
To the victims, the wounded, and all of Ukraine that continues to resist: our solidarity, our respect, our unwavering commitment.
Journalists need to stop accepting this false frame from Trump that he is trying to negotiate a peace deal between Ukraine and Putin. He is not. He is throwing the Ukrainians under the bus and embracing Putin. That is NOT mediation.
You scumbag. Hundreds of British soldiers have died over the last two decades supporting your country in your wars. Your utter disrespect, dismissal, and disregard for their sacrifice because it doesn’t suit your present narrative is sickening.
You know why Zelensky only wears that shirt?
Because it was given to him at the beginning of the war by a disabled Ukrainian, and it’s meant to represent hope.
Go ahead, Republicans, continue to attack him for not wearing a suit.
You just look like fucking jackasses.
You can't understand the damage done to Europe/US relations without watching the German Foreign Minister's speech today, essentially saying that the US has fallen to Russia.
The time has come to start considering a broad coalition of willing for just peace in Ukraine. “Peace” on terms of the aggressor is called a capitulation and would only encourage all current and future aggressors. Free world must stand up to the evil.
