Good morning @NordoniaSchools word is you got a snow day! Your plow definitely didn’t! We currently have 25 crews out in Summit County treating the roadways! If you see us out, please give us plenty of room to work #ODOTwinter
To my fellow Ohioans who don't think #COVID19 is still a threat - it is. If you aren't worried about yourself, you should worry about your mom, your dad, even strangers who could get #COVID19 from you.
Wearing a mask is not something you do for yourself. It's something you do for others. I am optimistic that the number of people wearing face coverings will increase as they realize what is at stake. ➡ Lives are at stake. #StaySafeOhio#InThisTogetherOhio
Can we now all agree on one thing: teaching isn’t nearly as easy as it looks in Hollywood. Having gone to school doesn’t mean one can teach school. The science of instruction, assessment, remediation is not intuitive. It takes work and time to master.
@DrJoeClark Thank you so very much for this. My nephews and sister are not as fortunate to have a leader who thinks this way. It’s is heartbreaking the amount of stress that they are going through with her being a working single parent. Wishing I could be there to help.
I’m so frustrated with “we need to make sure they’re prepared for the next grade” as a justification for full days of online work for these babies. No. THE NEXT GRADE WILL HAVE TO CHANGE.
Remember when they said we need state tests & report cards because otherwise teachers & principals would slack off?
Well, testing & state report cards are canceled and all I see are teachers & principals working harder than ever before.
Let’s trust our professionals.
Thought for @OHEducation @OHEducationSupt to consider: teachers needing to renew licenses need fingerprinted. That’s not safe now. I recommend a grace period for license renewals should these school closures extend.
Best part of being a teacher is when all of your students were 100% convinced there would be a snow day, & when there’s not, half don’t show up & the other half are mad at YOU, the teacher, for not calling a snow day
As if I am the keeper of the snow days.
