Real Madrid facing Arsenal again! I like that. I know UEFA will keep making sure we face Arsenal regularly until we finally settle our score, just like what happened with Manchester City. Hala Madrid!
Numerous reports indicate that the legendary Real Madrid footballer, Roberto Carlos, has embraced Islam. If the reports are confirmed to be true, we warmly welcome him to the religion of Islam.
We will leave the Ballon dโOr controversy in the past and welcome Rodri to Real Madrid. From everything we have seen, itโs clear he wants to wear the white shirt and is ready to make the move. If the opportunity comes, Madridistas should embrace him and focus on what he can bring to the club.
I had the honor of representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR @officialABAT at the 44th Convocation Ceremony of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where I congratulated the Pro-Chancellor, the Governing Council, University management, Senate members, staff, graduating students, parents, guardians, and well-wishers.
I emphasized the importance of not being hindered by outdated practices in universities, urging them to regularly review their strategies to meet the objectives of their founders. I was pleased to note that Ahmadu Bello University had been diligently implementing its 2022-2026 Strategic Plan and encouraged the University to continue engaging all stakeholders in its successful execution.
The Federal Government is aware of the challenges universities face in settling their electricity bills and is making conscious efforts to alleviate this situation, ensuring that universities can function optimally. I urged universities to explore internal solutions, such as utilizing research on alternative power sources, particularly through their Centres for Energy Research and Training. The practical application of this knowledge could help meet their electricity needs and contribute to societal development.
Food security is a top priority for this administration, with universities and research institutes playing a key role in advancing agriculture, particularly through climate-smart practices. The government through TETFUND has allocated Thirty Billion Naira (N30B) to support mechanized farming in Universities of Agriculture and universities with Faculty of Agriculture.
Additionally, the administration is focused on reforming Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to foster entrepreneurship and empower young Nigerians to become economically self-reliant. This initiative aims to enhance skills development and strengthen the nation's workforce.
I congratulated the graduating students and encouraged them to apply their knowledge in contributing to national development. I reaffirmed the Federal Ministry of Educationโs commitment to improving education in line with our Renewed Hope Agenda, as evidenced by the establishment of the NELFUND education loan scheme, which has expanded access to education across the country.
