@Gryphonknightt@preposterousbbg The same reason why using abortion as birth control is abhorrent is why it shouldn't be done in the event of rape or incest. One baby is not more valuable/innocent than another.
@ChZim1@DefiantLs I could be wrong, but I believe it becomes a retirement account owned by the child @ 18 and as such, can't be withdrawn penalty free until the child reaches age 59 ish.
You CAN believe all of these things at the same time:
✅ ICE Messed up
✅ Pretti should've stayed home
✅ You SHOULDN'T impede law enforcement
✅ You CAN carry at a protest
✅ ICE should CONTINUE DEPORTING ILLEGALS
✅ Communists are creating chaos to push their agenda
The things I and many simultaneously believe to be true:
- I wish Renee Good and Alex Pretti were still alive. They were people made in God’s image whose lives had value, and their deaths are tragic
- I still am unclear about the true story surrounding Pretti’s killing
- I am not sure DHS messaging on Pretti’s death has been completely accurate or helpful
- The chaos that led to their deaths is in large part due to local law enforcement refusing keep the public from impeding ICE and local politicians stoking the flames by calling ICE “Gestapo”
- ICE and border patrol agents, by and large, do a good, compassionate job that is very difficult. Like any group - teachers, pastors, social workers, etc - there will be those who are corrupt or bad at their jobs, and it’s ok to acknowledge that if apparent
- ICE’s job is necessary and good. Removing illegal aliens, including those who have committed heinous crimes against American children, should be able to be done without conflict. This is normal business that has been conducted in similar ways under both R and D administrations. The chaos is not caused by Trump. It is caused by those who hate Trump
- America, like every country, has the right and responsibility to defend its borders, protect citizenship, and enforce immigration law. This is necessary for national sovereignty. This is not “kidnapping,” and it’s not just violent criminals who need to be deported.
- Lots of overlap between those decrying ICE and those who: never said a word about immigration enforcement under Biden & Obama, have never expressed concern about the lives lost because of illegal immigration, support abortion, or accused Charlie Kirk of racism in the days following his murder. I am 100% uninterested in what these people have to say about morality or justice.
@FirstWorldTom@HeroDividend I was surprised to see this while looking into the stock. Either a marketing failure or an unprofitable grasp at market share? Idk
@BernieSanders Can't they find a cheaper insurance provider? Or has all the competition been forced out by some ridiculous regulations and mandates? Good ol Dems here making damn sure the right insurers get paid whatever amount they care to demand.
In light of Ilhan Omar’s comments blaming Charlie Kirk for his own assassination, Mike Johnson must move to strip her of all committee assignments - same as was done to Marjorie Taylor Greene (with 11 Republicans voting for it!)
@MarioNawfal Why can't she just say that ice agents are just good people who happen to be enforcing our laws that she disagrees with and hopes to change?
Good morning.
The reason you feel Charlie’s death so deeply is because grief doesn’t measure itself by proximity. It measures itself by meaning. You didn’t have to know him personally to feel the sting of his absence, because when a voice like his goes silent, something in the atmosphere shifts.
The reason it feels heavier than so many other tragedies is because your spirit recognizes that this is not just about a man, it is about a battle. Scripture says eternity is written on our hearts, and when someone who carried truth with boldness is suddenly gone, eternity aches within us. It’s like our souls know instinctively that the darkness celebrated, and that strikes us at the core.
The reason you can’t shake it is because psychologically, we don’t only attach ourselves to people…we attach ourselves to symbols. Charlie became a symbol of conviction in a time of compromise, courage in a time of fear. And when a symbol is struck down, it rattles something primal and eternal inside us.
That’s why even those who never met him feel it. There is a strange thread pulling at us, and it is not imagined. It is real. We are bound together by shared purpose, by shared longing for truth, by the Spirit of God Himself weaving us into a fabric that cannot be torn apart. This loss pulled at that fabric, and every one of us felt the tug.
So if you’ve wondered why this hits so hard, it’s because your soul knows. This is bigger than news. This is bigger than politics. This is about eternity, about truth, and about the weight of a man whose life carried both.
Love y’all.
George Floyd got a golden casket while Dems bowed down dressed in African Kente-Cloth Stoles
The right asks for a simple moment of silence after Charlie Kirk’s assassination and Dems won’t allow it
