Positions meant for Technocrats are given to politicians
Give Politicians positions such as VC of a university, Chief Medical Director of a Hospital, Provost of a School etc and watch the institution take a retrograde path

Dear Nigerians,

Doctors in Nigeria are burned out from excess workload.
And what does that really mean?

Working an average of 106 hours per week for physicians, and up to 126 hours per week for surgeons.

Being on back-to-back calls, where a doctor works 48 hours nonstop, sometimes 72 hours, and in some extreme situations, over a week without real rest. Many even take continuous back-to-back calls for months non-stop.

“You are exhausted… complex cases come in… yet you’re still expected to make critical decisions immediately...”

Exhaustion kills.
It endangers the doctor… and it endangers the patient.

Regulated work hours are not comfort or luxury.
They are essential for safe, effective, and humane healthcare.
