We’re excited to share a new layer of insight from our Baseline Buoy deployed at the @NMAPlymouth.
This buoy has been quietly capturing underwater footage from the Eddystone Reef Exhibit, home to 45 species of sharks, rays, and fish.
Together, these three viewpoints give a more complete understanding of what’s happening in and around the water. Each Baseline Buoy is customisable for your needs, try building your own today at https://t.co/X8ez8YskZS
At The Seal Project in Brixham, our Baseline Buoy is equipped with three cameras, each watching a different part of the environment, for a different reason.
Waterline camera - This sits right at the surface, where many issues first appear, and is particularly useful for spotting floating debris such as plastic before it becomes a bigger problem.
Each Baseline Buoy is modular and purpose‑built, supporting up to four sensors, cameras or monitoring devices so functionality can be tailored to each project. Know a project that could benefit from a Baseline Buoy? Get in touch!
We’re thrilled to share that a Baseline Buoy has been deployed at The Seal Project in Brixham to monitor local seal populations and gather long‑term behavioural and welfare data.
We’re excited to be working with The Seal Project and hope this collaboration leads to more data, deeper understanding, and stronger protection for these mammals.
Tests like this give us the proof (and the data) we need to show exactly how the buoy behaves when deployed in harsh environments, and they help us strengthen every future build.

On a recent deployment we found an opportunity too good to ignore, a brutally rough patch of water that was perfect for putting one of our buoys through a stress test.
Our Robotics Engineer Alex launched the buoy in to see how it would cope under the kind of extreme conditions our customers often worry about, and it came through the test impressively well, escaping with only cosmetic damage.

Our newest launch, the Baseline Buoy, was developed to support aquaculture projects with the monitoring they need to automate operations and reduce costs.
A lot has changed since that test. The mechanics, monitoring and automation have all progressed quickly, and we’ll be sharing the next chapter of that journey very soon.
Our Baseline Buoy is now deployed off Cozumel, tracking invasive sargassum & capturing stunning images of marine life. Built to adapt across coasts, rivers, harbours & aquaculture sites, wherever clear environmental insight is needed. Curious? Let’s talk about your site.
