This buoy has been quietly capturing underwater footage from the Eddystone Reef Exhibit, home to 45 species of sharks, rays, and fish.

At The Seal Project in Brixham, our Baseline Buoy is equipped with three cameras, each watching a different part of the environment, for a different reason.

Waterline camera - This sits right at the surface, where many issues first appear, and is particularly useful for spotting floating debris such as plastic before it becomes a bigger problem.

We’re thrilled to share that a Baseline Buoy has been deployed at The Seal Project in Brixham to monitor local seal populations and gather long‑term behavioural and welfare data.

On a recent deployment we found an opportunity too good to ignore, a brutally rough patch of water that was perfect for putting one of our buoys through a stress test.

Our Robotics Engineer Alex launched the buoy in to see how it would cope under the kind of extreme conditions our customers often worry about, and it came through the test impressively well, escaping with only cosmetic damage.
