Hi there!!!
I'm a positivity account dedicated to posting and sharing facts about the wonderful nudibranchs and sea slugs that dwell in our oceans, one slug per day!!
If you have a request, feel free to DM me! Requests will be queued.
Come say hi!!!
The sea slug of the day is the Melibe! (Melibe viridis)
These strange-looking sea slugs (yes, they are Nudibranchs!) are also known as hooded nudibranchs, and feed with those big 'hoods' on their bodies! They can be found along America's west coast!
Glaucus atlanticus is a mollusk that floats upside down by using water's surface tension.
It feeds on other pelagic creatures, including the Portuguese man o' war and stores stinging nematocysts from the siphonophores within its own tissues as defense.

Hey!!
I know this doesn't come as a surprise, but I've kinda sorta given up posting on this account, both due to me being occupied a lot and me forgetting.
I may occasionally post every now and then, but it'll be far from daily.
Sea Slug Day is coming up, though! I'll post then!!
//Hey! Once again, so terribly sorry for my absence!! School has been kicking my ass and I actually kinda forgot about this acount lmao
I hope to return soon, don't worry, and I'll keep posting more slugs!!
