Welcome! This is the official Seattle Student Union Twitter. We are a group of students in Seattle Public Schools fighting to improve conditions for students and community in the district and the city. From the northend to the southend solidarity forever!
Ingraham High School, where a shooting led the @SeaStudentUnion to push for the $20M for student mental health, is in Moore's district. We are never, ever going to forget how she undermined student mental health today.
Members of @SeaStudentUnion are right to call out Mayor Harrell. Last fall students, educators and @cmkshama fought for and won $20 million in new funding for school mental health support - but Harrell has refused to hire the counselors who can help prevent school shootings.
From the Seattle Student Union, condemning the slowness of Seattle spending the $20m they won last year for student mental health. SSU also stands against cops in schools and use of ShotSpotter.
Join us for our next membership meeting to learn about opportunities to become involved! RSVP at the link in our bio. 10:25 to 11:45 am, October 1, at Capital Hill Library.
EDITORIAL: "In a world threatened by gun violence daily, students deserve more support. We deserve to be kept informed, we deserve dignity and we deserve to feel safe and protected," @delcrawl and Le Ha write.

The @SeaStudentUnion on fighting for the assault weapons ban & other commonsense gun safety bills: “In November, a 17-year-old student was shot and killed on a Seattle high school campus. We were terrified... We turned our anger into action” https://t.co/QhfQTvggaE
Our young people need positive investments in their schools now more than ever. I’ve met with dozens of students in the south end over the past six months, and am excited to work w/ @SeattleDEEL & @KCPubHealth to center these students’ leadership.
