Was hoping to see @SpaceX but it’s delayed.
Instead we saw TWO BABY SEA TURTLES being rescued from their nest. 65 others had hatched on their own last night, these two were found after the @SeaTurtlePS checked the nest.
(turtles need to reach beach on own for strengthening)
It’s that time of year again!

You don’t have to be a formally trained scientist to accomplish meaningful science. I think everyone should embrace the love of exploration. Puppies do it, squids do it and elephants do it, but people, perhaps, do it best of all: explore, remember and pass information along.
SEA TURTLE RESCUE: 300-400 lb green sea turtle mama found w/ entangled flipper, unable to move out of nest in south Melbourne Beach. Rescued by @SeaTurtlePS and UCF Marine Turtle Research Group. Taken to @BrevardZoo for rehab. @MyNews13#News13Brevard Video = GP
Finally, We want to give a big thanks to Jimmy Golian for knowing exactly what to do and calling it in right away. We responded quickly and got this momma turtle on her way. Jimmy is also an amazing photographer and he shared these fantastic photos.
Beachgoers, we need your help!
We have had several instances of sea turtles getting stuck in dune crossovers (beach stairs). Just a few days ago, our state-permitted sea turtle-stranding leader Cyndi Stinson had to dig this momma out.
Please see comments.
Please call in any sea turtles found stuck or in distress. Please do not touch the turtle as it is illegal.

Sea Turtles cannot go backward, and as we increase the number of dune crossovers and nesting sea turtles, we increase the chances of nesting turtles getting stuck.
Last year, we had many stuck turtles in Florida. One large momma was trapped for hours in the baking sun, she died from heat exposure.
Dune crossovers are stairs built over dunes. If you go to the beach, please look under these dune crossovers for stuck sea turtles.
