Loggerhead Day — June 12! 🌊🐢
We honor the Loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta), a powerful ocean traveler facing threats from marine debris. Discarded nets, ropes, and waste can trap & kill these turtles. Protect our oceans—every action helps save our pawikan. #SeaTurtleWeek

All eyes on our blue planet this #WorldOceanDay.
The ocean connects every coastline, every community, and every one of us. When people come together with a shared purpose, we can protect the waters that sustain life, strengthen communities, and inspire action across the globe.
“Many small people, in many small places, doing many small things, can change the face of the world.” — African proverb
“Many drops make a mighty ocean.” — Japanese proverb
“One broomstick breaks easily, but the bundle is strong.” — Kenyan proverb
This #WorldOceanDay, let’s stand together for a thriving ocean and a healthier future for our planet.

P.S. A gentle reminder to drop the “s” — we share one interconnected ocean that unites us all. Thinking of it as one global ocean helps inspire the cooperation and collective action needed to protect it for future generations.

Tip of the day: learn about simple everyday choices that reduce plastic pollution and help marine ecosystems thrive. Small actions can make a big difference over time.
With #SeaTurtleWeek almost here, we're highlighting a major threat to sea turtles: fisheries bycatch.
New research found that sea turtles often avoid nets they can see, suggesting visual cues are important.

The green sea turtle is the 2nd largest sea turtle, reaching up to 500 lbs.
Adults are herbivores, grazing on seagrass and algae.
They’re also the only sea turtle that regularly comes ashore to bask in places like Hawaii and the Galápagos Islands.

Sea turtle conservation isn't always boats and tropical waters.
Often, it's long nights on dark beaches, searching for nesting turtles and protecting vulnerable nests.
This footage comes from our partners, PAMaLi Indonesia.
Good news! 🌱
Seagrass is rebounding in Florida's Indian River Lagoon after pollution-fueled algae blooms wiped out about 75% of it. That's important because seagrass feeds manatees and green sea turtles while supporting the entire ecosystem.
