Javier Rubiera esta especializado en estudios del siglo XVII. Lo que mas disfrute de su presentacion fue la breve discusion que se hizo sobre el rol de la mujer en el siglo de oro. Habia dos tipos de mujer donde esta el arquetipo de una mujer bella pero amazon.

La primera charla que atendi fue de Enrique Fernandez, el se especializa en las novelas celestinas y picarescas. En su presentacion llamo a nuestra atencion a la novela de "Gil Blas", una novela previamente famoso cuyo nombre deriva de un periodico popular en Francia.

@NicoleRuppert3 @ElissaMMonteiro The fact that student-athletes receive little to no help in their academic careers is sad. Like you said what if sports is no longer an option for them, they should be able to fallback on the academic path they chose.

@longn0de @ElissaMMonteiro There is a vast amount of lawsuits against the NCAA and their unfair treatment. Even then they cling onto the ideals of amateurism, in order to justify their actions. Such as their lack of compensation for the student-athletes.

@NicoleRuppert3 @ElissaMMonteiro If students-athletes are considered 'students' and not employees, they should most definitely be allowed to transfer. I agree, students should be allowed to transfer even if it is at least once per undergraduate.

Students of all majors are allowed to transfer in search of a better school, so why can't student-athletes. Why must they face a penalty? What if the coach they wanted switched? They should be granted the opportunity as well. @ElissaMMonteiro #educ150

@KierstenMehl @ElissaMMonteiro I agree! Athletes should not have to deal with the fear of losing their position due to an injury they got while playing. They should also be provided with proper information as to what signs and symptoms there are to a concussion.

Athletes shouldn't have to worry about losing their positions because they have a concussion. Their goal should be to recover and get back to the field, instead of fearing that schools will replace them. @ElissaMMonteiro #educ150

@KierstenMehl @ElissaMMonteiro The fact that there is still unequal treatment despite having a law that schools should comply with says a lot about the system. Title IX definitely has more work to do and Universities consequences to tend to.

Title IX the reassurance of equality between men and women who participate in sports? There seems to be something wrong since males continue to be favored more when it comes to support, opportunities and treatment. @ElissaMMonteiro #educ150

@LaurenBarger9 I agree, these contracts should be clear enough to where student-athletes know what they are signing. After signing they have no choice, but to follow order, so they should at least know what they are getting into.

Is it an athletic scholarship or a trap? Students are bound by the scholarship and controlled by the coach with this scholarship. A switch to a 4yr guaranteed scholarship would benefit them more. @ElissaMMonteiro #educ150

@Alessan55519276 @ElissaMMonteiro I agree, student-athletes are being treated so poorly and deserve justice. The NCAA must stop manipulating the concept of amateurism to where it only benefits them.

It's all their game and rules to the NCAA disregarding the needs of student-athletes. If there have been successes in the Olympics in abolishing the amateurism concept, why can't the NCAA do the same? #EDUC15 @ElissaMMonteiro
