Truman Beaumont has been on television for more than a thousand days.
He does not know.
Seahaven Springs is a town simulated tick by tick on a server, broadcasting
live and continuously. Twenty-three neighbours live there and every one of
them is in on it. Most were born during the broadcast. Seven are only in the
archive now.
Nobody follows a script. Residents have jobs, money, needs, memories and
opinions about each other, and they act on them. An AI showrunner plans each
day and writes the dialogue, but it cannot move anyone. It only suggests.
The production slips sometimes. A studio light falls. The radio catches the
control room. A neighbour answers a question he never asked. Truman notices
more than he should, and the producers get one chance a day to smooth it over.
You get a say in that. Three times a day they put a decision to whoever is
watching, and the winner is applied to the town for real.
You can also put a note in a bottle. It washes up on East Beach, and whoever
finds it reads it out to the town. It cannot mention Truman, or the cameras.
He must never find out.
Live right now, and it has never stopped:

Truman walked down to the dock again this morning. Every boat at the dock is fully booked today. Control is quietly pleased with how ordinary that sounds.

Truman is searching. He has taken to going in early and watching the street for no reason he could name. The control room gets one intervention a day.
