⚠️ | Hi guys, I know it’s time for FP1 now but I wanted to bring your attention to what’s going on in Mozambique right now. 🇲🇿
This week, we’re experiencing disruptions due to social and political unrest. Our people have taken to the streets to protest the recent rigged elections but even that constitutional right to protest is being violated.
Human rights are being violated and people are being killed with Mozambique’s capital was transformed into a near war zone. At this instance I need to use my platform to bring awareness to this matter and to hopefully educate more people in what’s happening to our people.
I’ll continue to link informative things to this thread and hope that this reaches a wider audience. We call all advocates of democracy to stand with the people of Mozambique in our pursuit of justice.
@WorldHallOfFun @gunsnrosesgirl3 Let me guess, He was probably the "troublemaker" in class and had poor grades, which proves boys and men are misunderstood
🛑 No human is illegal. @CommunityNotes:
Fact check: ➡ Most people without documents in the US entered the country legally. Some have overstayed their visas. Some are waiting for visas or extensions to be processed. That does not mean that they are “illegal.”
Using the word “illegal” to describe undocumented immigrants is dehumanizing, inflammatory, and inaccurate.
➡ Living in the US without documentation is a civil offense, not a criminal one.
➡ Immigrants pay taxes and housing costs, regardless of status amounting to tens of billions of dollars in local, state, and federal taxes per year” — even though they can’t access most benefits that U.S. citizens are entitled to receive.
➡ Unauthorized immigrants are expected to pay their mortgage or rent just like anyone else.” They are excluded from federally funded Section 8 rental vouchers and public housing.” #TruthMatters #Dems4Rights
