Since Uganda passed the anti-homosexuality Act:
1) How much money has been lost to corruption?
2) How many people have lost their lives due to dysfunctional hospitals?
3) How many girls have been infected with HIV?
4) How many people have perished from road crashes on poor roads?
5) How many people have been robbed and killed by roaming gangs?
6) Have Ugandans become more moral?
Let’s make no mistake, a country’s nationals and residents can not be “wished away” through criminalization and radical excitement. From Uganda in 2023 to recently Senegal and now Ghana , sexual minorities continue to be victims of such abhorrent legislations. We see you!
The passing of the Anti-LGBTIQ+ law in Ghana is a reflection of continuous syndicated attack on internationally recognized Human Rights and further rendering some members of communities criminals, a despicable practice in reality. Let’s make not mistake…
@DouglasLwangaUg Most of these ministries have technical staff. Ministers hold titular positions with overlapping authority with the permanent secretary and the accounting officers (not accountants). One could also say they are ceremonial, especially if they are not trained in the relevant field
There is literally a “payback” for gambling away people’s lives based on greed, unchecked cognitive failure, and extremism. Such people have no place in leadership.
@SilverKayondo Poor lad, had to later appear before her and “apologise” for she had threatened to never allow him to defend “any bill in this parliament again”
On this IDAHOBIT, I join human rights defenders and leaders around the world in recognizing the inclusive nature of democracy, separating it from the perceived de facto “Ayes” to clearly acknowledge human reality and protect everyone, including the few.
Where opportunities are tagged to connections while merit meets obstacles, for young people, hope is alive when selfless Ugandans like “Tabz” join the fight against corruption, abuse of office, and incompetence among leaders by making important public information accessible.
In light of this Sunday’s #IDAHOBIT and as part of the 🇺🇳🏳️🌈 LGBTI Core Group, #KingdomNL’s Permanent Representative reaffirmed #KingdomNL’s support for the rights of LGBTI people everywhere.
No matter who you love or how you identify: your rights are not up for debate.
Oboth Oboth.. how could I forget that name. He has been at the center of passing every controversial bill in that house.
Is the bill too oppressive? Give it to Oboth.
Is the bill too exploitative? Give it to Oboth.
A perfect devil's advocate, they sure know how to pick em 🙌🙌
